Not seeign my Eb and Bb books

Post by taylorfusion » Sun Jun 29, 2014 5:37 pm

I have the Bb and Eb indexes active in my control panel but don't see them in my iPad app. The pdfs are there as well but unless the index is loaded it won't sync up.

How do I refresh and get then to show? The alert from igigbook i sthat I have "the latest indexes'

thanks

For a while now we have done away with separate Bb and Eb indexes when they match the C index because you can now transpose between the different versions of the PDF:

ok didn't know that....so all I have to do then is add the "_" character to my pdfs and I should be good.

Is it the same procedure for nrealbk1eb.pdf ---> nrealbk1_eb.pdf ?

The New Real Books have different indexes for Bb and Eb versions.

What are the correct spellings of all Bb and Eb books to sync with all Bb and Eb indexes?

The How To that I provided a link to earlier describes how to use a single index with Bb, C, Eb, and Bass clef PDFs which includes what to name them. For the New Real Book series you have to consult the index list to get the correct book code or you can just select the item from the Book List view and then select any song title you see which will popup a message that will tell you exactly what the PDF should be named to be linked to that index.

Ok I got my classic real books in all 3 keys syncd up using the new KEY icon, thank you.

And I do see that the New Real Books have different indexes that don't align across the keys (i.e. tunes on pg 35 are different) so am assuming the default names for each would be as described here: viewtopic.php?f=22&t=9, namely nrealbk1bb and nrealbk1eb (i.e.)?

I've re-syncd indexes with iGigBook server but I still don't see my Bb/Eb books at all either in Book List view (can't remember if it was ever there prior to the new Key icon feature implemented) nor in my search results so essentially I can't access the Bb/Eb books via the search engine that I used to be able to use.

I also checked my Content Manager and these books are marked Active.

Another book I'm testing with is Real Jazz Standards Fake Book (rjstandfbk). It's on my iPad, It's active in Content Manger, but doesn't show up in Book List view nor Song Search results.

What am I missing either index wise or naming convention-wise?

thanks

If an index is not listed in your Book List view it means one of two things:

1. You are not logged into the app. This happens if you uninstall the app and then reinstall it and do not log into the app. You may have to log out of the app, exit the log in screen and then return to it, log in again and then sync.

2. The index you desire to be in your Book List view is not marked active in the configuration manager at my.igigbook.com.

Thanks Phil...I wasn't logged in. I noticed there is no error while doing an index sync (after entering Apple Store pw). Is there a way to code this in? Otherwise, the Sync operations complete even though the count may be different between what is Active in the Content Manager and what we end up with on the device.

The log in I'm referring to is the screen you receive when you select the third icon at the top right that looks like a person. That screen validates user name and password.

When you press the sync button, you may receive an App Store log in prompt for your Apple credentials for the purpose of refreshing In App purchases you may have made from the app. Currently the only In App purchase are the free chord charts that transpose.
