How do you remove an index

Post by yamaharecordingcustom » Tue Apr 19, 2016 8:51 am

I did not know what I was doing when I first received the app. I accidentally indexed the beatles 1962-1974 book as samplebk.pdf or something like that. Basically The Beatles book shows as indexed and there are 199 tunes but when I go in it shows the 20 songs from the sample book and the rest of the pages are blank. I did this in the beginning when I was trying to learn. I have finally figured how to use this app and now I do have the Beatles book downloaded but I Can't index it cause it is already indexed as the sample book. How do I unindex a book so that I can put the correct index? When I go to booklist and hold on to the The Beatles book, I do not get the window that allows me to access the pdf. Instead I get the set offset window. Anybody have an idea how to resolve this?

The easiest way is to rename sample.pdf(the PDF the goes with the sample index) to samplebk.pdf. sample.pdf should be in the My Scores view, just press and hold to rename it. After it's renamed you'll find (Your actual Beatles Fake Book) with the name YYMMDD-HHMMSS-samplebk.pdf where YYMMDD = year month day = 160419 and HHMMSS = hour minute second. This is the time the backup file was created when you renamed the file to the name of a file that already exists.

In My Scores, the sample pdf which is named beatles6274.pdf won't allow me to rename or link to index - for some reason the app closes right after I press Okay after i typed samplebk.pdf.

Weird.

The other thing is that I can not figure out how to access my free Pop Chord Charts Transpose. I see it in Book List and on the right side it says Buy content (IN Green). When I press it it goes to the page that lists all the songs and then when i press a song a window pops up saying "chartspop.pdf Missing". How do I get this free pdf?

Thanks

You indicated that you linked the "The Beatles 1962-1974" PDF you have to the sample index by mistake. This means that your Beatles PDF is currently named samplebk.pdf. Try refreshing the My Scores view and then see if you can find sample.pdf. If you are able to find it rename it to samplebk.pdf which will generate a back up file which will be your actual Beatles PDF.

If you're logged into your iTunes account on your device, it should download automatically unless you're using an account that has In App purchases disabled.

I have the same problem. On iPad I am logged into iTunes. I search for the song Both Sides Now and it says Chartspop.pdf is missing.

Any ideas?

Can you provide more detail about what your problem is? I'm asking because it has nothing to do with the Beatles book that's mentioned above.

It is ok. I am all sorted. I was referring to the second problem. In song search the PDF was missing. But I went to book list and downloaded it. All is well.
