Thank you to both Phil and Spinality.

I'm going to wait for a day when my mind is clear and the sun is shining and take another whack at this. I obviously did something to break the app when I messed around with offset pages and/or deleted and entered new books but I love this program and I need to it work. As you can surely tell, I'm an amateur musician so no one is missing out while I'm putting my igigbook life back together. (Even if everything were working and I was playing a gig today, no one would be missing out.)

:-)

Thank you for your patience. And especially thank you for creating such a wonderful product. I use BIAB to create background tracks and then organize everything in this amazing app on my iPad. It's amazing indeed!

Bravo to all of you and thanks again for your help.

Signing off so you can enjoy the rest of your weekend.

If you can't find it that generally means there is not an index provided. You have a few options. 1. You can create your own index. There are how-tos describing this. It's somewhat technical. 2. You can add bookmarks to the PDF. That is generally the easiest for someone who is not super technical. You would do this using a tool that lets you modify PDFs, like Adobe Acrobat (*not* Adobe Reader but the full Acrobat product). There are many other tools that let you manipulate bookmarks. You'll basically have to move to each page, and type in (or perhaps copy/paste) a bookmark for that page. 3. You can just use the file as an unindexed/unbookmarked PDF, and scroll down through it to find what you want. 4. You can pull out individual songs you want from the PDF using one of the PDF tools, save them under the song titles, and load those onto iGigBook. Then you'll wind up with a number of 1- or 2- page PDFs matching titles for the specific songs you want.

In addition: If the Bb book matches the concert book EXACTLY in terms of which pages appear where, you can name the book dssongbook_bb and iGigBook will let you switch keys. Or you can just give it the same name as the concert key book and it will magically work. But that's only true if the page layout is identical. That is true for a few books but not usually.

Hope this helps. iGigBook is a great tool, but it is a tool. It doesn't automatically provide access to every PDF ever made. You need to take some technical steps. This is the process that experienced users have gone through to store and access dozens or hundreds of books on their devices.

Thanks Spinality!

I really appreciate the help.

I’m really hoping that there is an index, but I’m just not seeing it somehow.

I think I’m going to wait and see if Phil Smith will let me know before I try to do anything on my own. I’ve make great progress in the last few days getting the iGigBook App set up but I think creating an index is probably not in my wheel house. I can tell that you really know this product inside and out. Your help on this message board has been EXTREMELY helpful.

Thanks again!!

The index list that I've provided a link to earlier is the complete list of indexes, if you don't see your book on that list it does not exist.

Separate indexes for Bb and Eb versions of books only exist where the Bb and Eb versions differ from the C version. A single index can be used for Bb, C, Eb and bass clef versions of a PDF: viewtopic.php?f=22&t=408

When I go to my.igigbook.com, I don't see this book to select or turn on ...

The Digital Standards Songbook--dssongbook

Or this book ...

The Digital Standards Songbook--dssongbook_bb

It also doesn't show up in the Select Index to Link in the iPad.

I believe I need to attach the book to the proper index but it doesn't seem to appear on the list.

Is it named something else?

I have the book in my iPad and it's ready to Link to Index.

I think I'm really close now.
