Creole Jazz Band Fake Book

Post by SiteAdmin » Sat Jan 19, 2013 9:22 am

New Index AND PDF Available: "Creole Jazz Band Fake Book"

"This Fake Book has been assembled with tunes that have all been written prior to 1923. Therefore these are all out of copyright in the USA."

This index takes advantage of the new auto download feature. To get the PDF, select "Creole Jazz Band Fake Book 1" from the Book List view and the PDF will download and link to the index.

This PDF comes courtesy of the Creole Jazz Band and is in C concert key. The Creole Jazz Band offers Bb, Eb and Bass Clef versions of this PDF as well, so that you can use the Single Index System to access charts from all four books.

OK I download all the versions of this - C, Bb, Eb, and Bass (F Clef).
But I want to default to bass clef and so renamed the bass cleff book to "creolejbfb.pdf" and renamed the C treble book to "creolejbfb_c.pdf"
So now IGB defaults to Bass cleff book, fine.

But now under the transpose window you can't change to C treble clef even though it is one of the selections in the transpose pull down.

I looked at the procedure "How To Use a Single Index For Bb, C, Eb and Bass Books" but it is partially confusing. Namely:

"You also have the ability to set a default book transposition by going to the Apps section of the Setting app and setting the book default.

What on EARTH is the "Apps section of the Setting app" ?????????
Thanks
Dutch

No where in the How To mentioned do we mention anything about naming a book with a "_c "as in creolejbfb_c.pdf.

The Settings App is the app that one uses to turn wireless on and off, turn airplane mode on and off, adjust screen brightness, etc.

Thanks. Now I get it. I hadn't thought of Settings as an app.

As a long time PC user it's taking me a bit of adjusting getting used to the "iPad" way.
