iGigBook Version 2.50

Post by SiteAdmin » Thu Jun 19, 2014 1:15 pm

What's New:

Send MIDI events to devices connected to your iPad. When you view a PDF page from the Gig Set Viewer you can add MIDI events to that page that are sent to a device when you display the page. A handy MIDI Events Editor has been created that allows you to create "event sets" consisting of MIDI commands to send to a device. You can give these "event sets" custom names and then assign them to any page in a PDF.

A new how to is available here: How To Send Midi Events

What's Been Fixed:

When sharing set list via email that included a PDF of the songs in the set, blank pages would randomly appear in place of the song depending on the PDF.

The latest version is really terrible quite honestly,it keeps on crashing when I open a song,I can't use it at all anymore. It's one buggy piece of software, which should be shipped as a beta test release in the current state.
I do like it when it works, but a tool that the pros use??Not in the current state!

I understand your frustration, unfortunately not everyone is having this problem which makes it difficult to track down exactly what's going wrong. We have another version, 2.51 waiting to be approved that will hopefully fix this problem for you. I say hopefully because we're currently not seeing a clear pattern of problems.

What version iPad are you using?
What version of iOS are you using?
Is this a "Jail Broken" device?

Hi Phil!

Well I was a bit pissed off when I posted that reply, because I had to practice a song and the app crashed again, after me installing it again (and all of my ebooks, which were deleted when uninstalling the app, maybe it's good not to delete the whole application directory when choosing for uninstall, as the ebooks are in there too). And that installation I did, because I experienced that crashing constantly. For some weird reason it now sometimes works. When I open a song, the app just jumps out and brings me to the springboard of the ipad again. When I then do a double tap on the home button, I get a list of all the current running apps of course and then I see the Song loaded in that miniature app selection screen, but when I then choose to open it, iGIgbook opens and crashes again.

I am using an ipad 4, with the latest 7.1.1 version of iOS and no, the device is not jailbroken.

Btw, some positive words: when the app works, I love it and use it alot and therefore I find it a pity I experience those crashes. I already tried more things, like disabling wifi while using it, refreshing the indexes, rebooting the ipad, but no effect unfortunately.

Yes.....update 2: (I got a bright insigt and started fiddling around with the app after typing the last sentence :-)): I can consistently reproduce the problem, but better yet....also have a workaround that helps me out now!! Here is how on my device:

1. Close the app
2. Open the app and select a random book and then a song: app crashes
3. Now double tap home button and select the app (so it did not crash, it lost focus or something??)
4. Now there is no song loaded in the app. Load a song by any way you like and voila, it loads correctly!!

Hope you can fix this!
