If you search for iGigBook using the App Store app you will either see a button that says Update or one that says Open.

Phil, I have had igigbook for iPad for 3 years now, still not able to use it because "pdf not present". I have switched to irealpro, but the chords are bad. Can you help me? Thanks.

iRealPro and iGigBook aren't equivalent. iGigBook is designed to manage Real Books, Fake Books, Music Scores of any size and as a bonus over 1,300 chord charts that you can transpose to any key.

"PDF Not Present" means you have not linked a PDF to an index and/or you do not have the PDF that the index requires. You the user must provide your own PDF, iGigBook does not provide it for you.
