iOS 11 and iGigBook

Post by SiteAdmin » Mon Oct 02, 2017 10:35 am

iGigBook runs fine under iOS 11 but there are some changes that Apple has introduced that you should be aware of...

1. Beginning with iTunes 12.7, the App Store is no longer part of iTunes however the File Sharing feature still works for transferring files to and from your computer and device.

2. If you search for song titles with apostrophes you will not get the same search results as you would with prior versions of iOS because of a new feature called "Smart Punctuation" which is enabled by default. Navigate to: Settings-General-Keyboards and turn "Smart Punctuation" off.

Update: If you are using version 5.4 or greater of iGigBook and iOS 11 you do not have to disable "Smart Punctuation"
iGigBook - It's what the pros use.

I have an ipad pro and since the last update IGIG is crashing every time I try to add a new setlist. I have tried deleting old setlists to make room and that did not fix the issue. What else can I do??

When did this problem start happening?

What update, iOS or iGigBook?

What is the name of the set list you are trying to create?

I noticed it yesterday when I tried to create a new setlist. when I hit the green plus button IGIG shuts down. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the program. That did not work. At this moment I am restoring the IPAD. IPAD PRO 12.9 IOS 11.2 and the latest IGIG app. I appreciate any and all help you can give.
1. I uninstalled IGIG after saving files with fileshare from itunes.
2. reinstalled IGIG and reloaded files....dod not work.
3. uninstalled IGIG after saving files again.
4. restore ipad.
5. reinstall igig and load files through itunes.
6. not complete yet.

It seems that iOS 11.2 has introduced this error where you cannot create set lists or edit the name of a set list item or a set list, we're currently looking into it.

Is there a work around? When I deleted the app it deleted all 30 of my set lists. This makes things very difficult.

There is no workaround other than you downgrading to an earlier release of iOS 11. When you delete an app any app all of the data associated with the app is deleted. If you don't back up the iGigBook Documents folder prior to uninstall all of the data will be lost. In the future ask if uninstalling and reinstalling will fix your problem prior to doing it or back up(which you should be doing on a regular basis).
