iGigBook Version 1.70

Post by SiteAdmin » Sat Apr 21, 2012 1:27 pm

What's new:

Score annotation capability! The PDF view now has a note icon that allows you to add notes to or highlight any section of a score. The annotated score can be shared with others using the Set List Sharing feature. More information about the feature is available in the How To Section: viewtopic.php?f=22&t=489

What's fixed:
Fix for "Orphaned Song Entry" appearing as book name in Song Title Search for bookmark entries found.

When will this be available? At the app store 1.63 is available. When and where can I purchase or upgrade to 1.7?
Great program, easy to use, I can't wait to have the note option.
Thank you

Just tried out the annotation/highlighting tool and LOVE IT!!!! The fact that it is easy AND. Sends my notes when I email the set list is awesome!

Great work. :D

Two questions after using it and reading the tutorial:

1. It seems that you can't create new notes, edit notes or delete old notes once you have saved a note to a page. All I can do is turn notes view on or off once saved instead of delete or create new notes. Is this a bug or by design. I've tried in all different app modes.

2.Does this save the notes to the PDF file itself or into the app somewhere? I ask so I know if I can save the .pdf files out of my iTunes with notes attached. Just curious. I try to keep a backup of all PDFs in case something happened to my iPad so I won't lose anything.

To enter and exit note edit mode you have to press and hold the screen for two seconds.

The original PDF isn't modified, the notes are saved separately.

Really nice take on annotations. Love the box design w/ easy adjust highlighting. Much better then the other 2 music management programs I have. The arrow hand stamps are a nice touch hah. the format is very user friendly, kudos.

And because I am who I am....

Suggestions: Lower the minimum size for the text box. The current set up is good for the real book series, but books with smaller text make the highlighting oversized for some applications. (especially when trying to use it as an eraser) this is important IMHO to increase the usability, and sounds like 3 seconds to implement...

Increase the number of stamps available....I haven't seen other programs do this yet without looking cluttered, but I have ideas....perhaps drop down menus? Notes-Rests-articulations......I don't think there would be any other music notation needed for a gigging app...What are your thoughts Phil?

Drawdown menu example
Notes. Rests. Articulations
1/16. Ditto. Slur
1/8. Dot
1/4. Etc...
Etc...

As it stands I have a review to go edit!! Basic easy to use annotations baby!

robipad wrote: As far as I know you cannot export the books from the app back to the PC or am I wrong? So in fact it is not relevant that the original pdf is not modified? However there will be a relation between saved notes and the pdf book.
Question: If the book is replaced for any reason ( e.g. you wanted a more compressed file or better scanned version) will the note still be present?
The notes are linked to the specific PDF, if you change the name of that PDF the link is broken. If you replace the PDF with a PDF of the same name, the notes will still be there but if the content has been changed i.e. pages cropped, etc, the notes won't appear in the places you would expect them to be.

Oooooo that's really nice.

I can't seem to get rid of the black border around the notes. Not an issue when writing a note, but when I'm using the stamp feature (quarter note), it's surrounded by a silly black box?

You should review the how to post on the feature.

viewtopic.php?f=22&t=489

Border around note = note edit mode.
