iGigBook Version 1.81

Post by SiteAdmin » Mon Apr 29, 2013 1:26 pm

UPDATE: This feature will not work with items in your set list that have been added from My Scores. Version 1.82 corrects this problem.

Added ability to select tracks from your music library to play while viewing a chart from the Gig Set view. Pressing the new play icon will search your music player library for titles that match the song title of the chart you are viewing.

The search uses the title of the set list item which can be changed to whatever you like in the Set List Manager, which gives you more control over what is being searched for. The screen shot below shows the results of changing the name of a set list item to "You" from "Donna Lee" resulting in music player search results containing the word "You" in the song title.

Once you select a track from the list of tracks, play back begins, to stop play back, press the play icon again. To pause the track you must use the music player app since there is no functionality included in iGigBook to pause the track.

Can you provide two screen captures?

1. Your iGigBook set showing the song name.

2. Your music player with the song tab highlighted and the name of the song that was not found.

From my tests, it looks like any item from My Scores even if renamed will not match a song title in the player. This is consistent with the screens shots you provided. We'll figure out what's wrong and fix it in a future update.

I've taken the liberty to delete all but two of your screens from this thread.

I'm experiencing the same thing, too. Most of my iTunes library doesn't match the actual realbook titles exactly. Kind of depends on the source. For instance, in my case, quite a few songs have the title followed by additional text like artist name, or in some cases, I have info in parenthesis after the actual title like robipad.

Hopefully the filtering can be made less robust so if it finds enough of the string, it will show the match. I can post example screen shots if needed, but it seems like you've already sussed out what is going on.

Looks like it will be a very cool feature! Thanks!

The issue is only with those items that are in the Set List that have come from My Scores, items from the Book List view do not have the problem described. Using the Set List Manager you can modify the name of an entry to make it match specifically or more generally. Refer back to first post in this thread for an example.

I'm getting the play button highlights but no list comes up in a setlist which is pulling tunes from the regular book indexes, so it doesn't appear to be limited to the My Scores section. Any info I can provide about my specifics?

A list of tunes will only pop up if all or part of the title of the entry in the set list matches a song title in your music player. From my tests, other than items from My Scores, this works correctly.

Are you saying you have a set list item(from the Book List View) that matches the name of a song title in your music player that does not result in that item appearing in a pop up list when you press the play button?

Phil - Confirming that this is working as designed for the indexed books.

I just made a new set list to test based on a short list of tunes from my iTunes library and they all seem to work. So, it appears that it *is* just the my scores charts that aren't working.

I have some custom revisions I've done of tunes that duplicate tunes in the regular indexes MyScores (and my regular sets), which threw me - now that I understand what is going on, easy enough to wait for the update - Thanks!
