iGigBook Version 1.83

iGigBook version 1.83 has minor bug fixes and improvements and will automatically attempt to sync with the iGigBook Server to insure that the index data is current and in a format that will work with this version. This means that when you run the app the first time after updating, you will need an internet connection. Here are the steps you should follow to ensure a successful update to version 1.83:
  • Navigate to the Book List View
  • Completely exit out of iGigBook, by pressing the home key twice followed by pressing and holding any app in the tray until the red minus sign appears. Select the red minus sign for iGigBook.
  • Update the iGigBook app from the App Store app on your device.
  • Run iGigBook immediately after updating.
If you have a problem after following these steps, as some people have, here are additional things you can do:

Follow the steps outlined here:
  1. Completely exit out of iGigBook, by pressing the home key twice followed by pressing and holding any app in the tray until the red minus sign appears. Select the red minus sign for iGigBook.
  2. Connect your device to iTunes
  3. Select your device from the left hand column in iTunes
  4. Select Apps from the top menu bar in iTunes
  5. Scroll down to the File Sharing section
  6. Select iGigBook to display the files
  7. Delete the file AppState.plist
  8. Launch iGigBook
If that doesn't resolve your issue, you can use this method as a last resort:
  1. Connect your device to iTunes
  2. Select your device from the left hand column in iTunes
  3. Select Apps from the top menu bar in iTunes
  4. Scroll down to the File Sharing section
  5. Select iGigBook to display the files
  6. Copy files from iGigBook to a folder on your computer.
  7. Uninstall iGigBook
  8. Reinstall iGigBook
  9. Copy files from the folder on your computer in step 6 to iGigBook.
If you are on your way to a gig and intend to use iGigBook: DO NOT UPDATE the app!

If you are between sets on a gig and are bored: DO NOT UPDATE the app!

All my Books have disappeared from the app, and the app crashes when I attempt to access the book list. Which is irritating. What's the fix for that?

Now it tells me the max no of syncs (when no sync has happened) has been exceeded. This is really pathetic. All my books have been dumped into My Scores, so now what? Answers please!!

UPDATE! 7:20am EDT

I just tried reopenng iGigBook. This time, when the "rate this app" dialog box came up I tapped outside the dialog box, and this time the app proceeded to sync, then show me the book view, which was intact. Whew! Now when I press either response to the "rate this app" dialog box the app seems to respond normally.

Just did the update (about 6:30am EDT), according to the instructions. Now iGigBook will not even open, it crashes before opening the app.
More specifically, if i chose not to rate the app, it crashes. if i chose to rate the app, which takes me to the app store, and i do not rate the app, but go back into iGigBook, it crashes. If I delete the app I will lose all my data, and presumably need to start from scratch, which is not acceptable.

Answers Please!

iGigBook will not open. It crashes after this update. I have newest iPad with lots of memory. Shutdown iPad restarted no help. Shut down all other apps no help.

No difference. Still crashes when accessing books list, still locks me out because it thinks I'm syncing. Not happy.

Try syncing again, let me know if that corrects your problem.

I just updated. the program opens up and immediately closes. I have resynced and shut down and rebooted the ipad but still igigbook immediately shuts down when started.
