Free JazzChord Charts

Post by Bruce Long » Fri Jan 30, 2015 6:53 am

I wish to transpose these chords for use when playing Bb instruments. How Is this done please?
Secondly, I have adjusted the offset in order to synchronise a book. I now have to delete just one page and all will be done

What must I do please?

iGigBook does have a default book transposition feature but it does not apply to the chord charts.

To delete a page, you will need a tool that allows you to edit PDF files. If you're using a Mac, you can use the Preview program to delete pages. If you're using Windows, there are a number of free PDF editing tools available that will allow you to delete pages.

Many thanks indeed
Could you please tell me how to find and use the default book transposition feature
This would be even more important to me than transposing chords

This is a link to the how to for using a single index for Bb, C, Eb and Bass clef books. The default transposition setting in located in the settings app under "TRANSPOSITION".

New Real Book 3 I named as Classic Real Book 3

Is there a way to reverse these names please or must I delete them and start again--if so how?

PS I have installed them correctly on my Iphone if that could help.

Go to my.igigbook.com and uncheck Classic Real Book 3 and New Real Book 3
Sync with the iGigBook Server from the Book List view
Refresh the My Scores view and you will see the two files named crealbk3.pdf and nrealbk3.pdf.
Rename crealbk3.pdf to crealbk3nrealbk3.pdf (your doing this because you want to rename nrealbk3.pdf to crealbk3.pdf)
Rename nrealbk3.pdf to crealbk3.pdf
Rename crealbk3nrealbk3.pdf to nrealbk3.pdf

You could also copy the two files from your iPhone to your iPad using iTunes or from the location on your computer hard drive where you have the two files. You should have a back up of the contents of the iGigBook Documents folder that's visible when you connect your device via iTunes. If you don't you need to create one.

Re: sync your device with the IgigBook server

Post by Bruce Long » Sun Jun 07, 2015 3:22 am

I have and use Bb versions of several books and have recently downloaded Eb versions of them and other books
I have activated them but do not know what is meant by "sync your device with the IgigBook server"
I have in fact turned Igig book off , then turned it on again and clicked the sync tab on the My Score Page; it does not seem to appear on the Book List page as I have expected
It has not worked because the books remain as unindexed and there are still only 41 Book indexes .
eg. Real Jazz Book has not appeared on my Book List although I have downloaded and activated it
Your help will be gratefully received
Bruce

The books that have separate versions for Bb, C and Eb are the the New Real Books from Sher publishing. Any other book you would use the standard index and if you have a C version of that book AND a Bb or Eb version of the book, you would follow the instructions outlined here:

How To Use a Single Index For Bb, C, Eb and Bass Books
I have activated them but do not know what is meant by "sync your device with the IgigBook server"
Whenever you make changes via my.igigbook.com those changes will only be reflected on your device when you press the sync button at the top right of the Book List view. That pulls index data from the iGigBook server and pushes it to your device. If you don't press the sync button your device will not reflect the changes that you have made to my.igigbook.com which means any indexes that you have marked as active/inactive will not be reflected on your device.

Again, many thanks

Please how do I get out my. Igigbook.com page and then open Book List view in order to sync the changes made?

Secondly, I cannot see the sync button at top right on the Book List page. I only see it top left on the My scores page.( I take it that this button consists of 2 anti clockwise arrows) What can I do please?

Lastly, when viewing a song in the Classic Real Book, where is the key button and what does it look like?

Bruce

If you're accessing my.igigbook.com from your device it means you are in the mobile safari app. How do you get out of the mobile safari app? You press the home key at the bottom front of the device.

The quick start guide has a screen shot of the Book List View with all of the icons that are present and what they do.
