My Scanning Experience (The Ultimate Jazz Fakebook)

Post by BobG56 » Fri Dec 04, 2015 10:34 am

The book I had scanned is titled "The Ultimate Jazz Fakebook", compiled by Dr. Herb Wong and published by Hal Leonard Publishing. I have all three of the Hal Leonard books which are available on CD and for which there are iGigBook indexes, but this book has some unique songs and, in my opinion, better arrangements.

Note that iGigBook uses "Jazz Fakebook (Ultimate)" as the title.

The book was scanned for me by Bound Book Scanning in Monsey, NY (www.boundbookscanning.com). The cost was $40.95. I elected "destructive" scanning because they said that destructive scanning would produce better quality. Non-destructive scanning would have cost more. I forget how much more but their charges are all documented on their web site. Turn around was very reasonable. I forget how log but maybe around a week.

I'm a really fussy sob but I am very happy with the result!

The iGigBook index seems to be off by two pages but if I recall correctly there is some way to fix that. In the mean time it's not a big problem.
