Make a set list from a list of song title?

Post by Markk Darkk » Fri Jan 29, 2016 1:25 pm

Mr. Frontman Setlistmaker of the band I'm in is an infidel; he hasn't converted to iGigBook.

When he emails a set list that he's composed, it's just a list of song titles in .rtf format.

Is there any way to work with that .rtf and turn it into a set list that I can use with my iGigBook so that I don't have to rearrange and/or delete and/or add tunes?

An iGigBook set list has a lot of information contained in it besides the name of the song. It includes information such as the PDF the song comes from, the page number and the number of pages. Say you had "Autumn Leaves" on the list you received, which version would it be? Which book? Chord chart only and if so, what key?

Creating a set list is fairly quick once you have a list of the tunes, prior to iGigBook I would have to consult a binder that I created with the indexes of a number of real books and fake books and once found, locate the PDF, go to the page and then print the chart to put in a book or to just refresh my memory for a tune I sort of know.

Thank you for your response.

What you say is true, creating a set list is, indeed, fairly quick.

There have been times, I will confess, though, that I have wished the bottom right corner of Set List Manager had more space than what is there and shows only about nine titles. A song search (for me, anyway) doesn't require space for nine titles at the top in Song Search Results. I'd prefer more space in the "Add Song" "Add Results" bottom right.

But as to the answer to the question that I asked, unless I hear different from you here, I'm going to take it that the answer to my question is "No, Markk Darkk, you can't do anything with an .rtf file that lists the song titles."

Thanks again always.
