Book list on iPad doesn't reflect my.igigbook.com choices

Post by madbanjoman » Wed Jan 18, 2017 6:14 pm

Book list on iPad doesn't reflect my.igigbook.com choices. I am logged in but pressing the index refresh button in the book list does nothing. How do I force it to resync? Killing the app or rebooting the iPad or logging out and back in changes nothing.

One other note is that earlier in the day it was working but now it hasn't been working. Is it possible to get blocked by hitting the index refresh button too many times?

The sync isn't working for you because you've exhausted your syncs for today. In the future what you want to do is determine what indexes you want active or inactive, mark them as such using my.igigbook.com and then sync. It should really require one sync, going forward you have two syncs in any given day, using the strategy that I outlined you'll be fine.

I was wondering if there was some limit to syncs. I couldn't find any info about a limit. Is it in one of the faqs?

How To Use iGigBook Indexes
Do not continually press the sync button to pull down the same data as there are measures in place that will lock you out from syncing if excessive sync activity is detected on the server from your login.

I purchased the iPad Pro and backed up everything from my old iPad2. The Book List only show half of my previously indexed books. My Scores shows the remaining indexed book with the correct shorthand titles.

I went to ' Manage My Book Settings' in the Content Manager and all the stipulated setting were marked active.

I tried a sync and it did not work. I tried to hold down the book name for s seconds (ie ulxmasfkbk.pdf) in My Scores to Link to Index but the drop down only showed 3 Real Book files and the Sample book.

I'm at a loss

Phil,
I am an old guy, so you will have t walk me through this.

On my old iPad2 I had 46 indexed books in the Book List and nothing in My Scores. After transferring to the iPad Pro, it shows only 20 indexed books in the Book list and 26 unindexed books I My Scores. As I indicated before, I had checked the content Manager and all 46 fake books were check marked 'active'.

In My Scores, the 26 fake books have the correct designation codes (ie. ulpoprock.pdf). How do I move these 26 fake books to the indexed Book List. I tried holding down on a fake book in My Scores to get the dialogue box to link to index, but as I said before it showed only 3 different Real books and the Sample book.

I went on line to open the App, but this did not help. I leave myself in your capable hands

Try logging into the app...

If you see a thumbnail in the Book LIst view titled "Guest Mode Active" it means you aren't logged into the app. The icon at the top of the Book List view that looks like a person is what you use to log in and log out. If you don't see your user name or email address at the top of this screen you aren't logged in. If you see a Guest Mode button, select it, return to the log in screen and log in. Once you see your user name or email address at the to of this screen, sync with the iGigBook server.
