Blank pages on custom PDF

Post by derjazzmeister » Mon Nov 20, 2017 3:32 pm

I have been enjoying using this app on several gigs over the last year and it has been great! The setlists have saved so much time and have been a very convenient feature.

Among the PDFs I added was The Great Gig Book. Unfortunately, there was no index for this so I began the process of creating my own. I didn't do an index for the whole book - I did about 175 songs because these were songs that I did not have in other books I already owned.

After successfully importing the custom index and linking it to my PDF (via dropbox), I created setlists that included songs from this new book and used it a number of times on gigs.

Recently I was playing a gig, using a setlist I had previously used a number of times and advanced to an unexpected blank page. I was puzzled by this but skipped it and went on to the next song. This happened on a number of songs across my setlists on the gig.

When I got home, I realized that the blank pages appearing in my set lists were all songs indexed from The Great Gig Book.

Upon further investigation, i found that all the pages on my iPad from this book were blank, although the cover appears in the Book List page as expected, and the cover matches that of the cover page on the PDF. This was evidently the only page from the PDF that the app is rendering.

Here's what I have done so far.
1. Resync my setlists.
2. Disassociated, then reassociated the book to the index.
3. Deleted the book from the iPad and re-added it.
4. Verified the source on dropbox has all the pages in it as expected.
5. Verified my index is correct.

When I tap on The Great Gig Book from the Book list in the iPad app, I see my list of indexed songs.
When I tap on any song, the page is blank. The header on the page shows the expected information (ex: p. 121 - The Great Gig Book) but no page content.

Is there a step I should take to resync my pdf data?

Thank you!

More than likely this is a problem with the Dropbox import. Here's what you can try:

1. Unlink the PDF from the index and then delete the file from My Scores.

2. Try copying the PDF file to your device using iTunes file transfer.

Thank you for your response!

I did what you suggested but the results are the same. Since this pdf once worked, I wonder if the index is corrupted somehow?
Besides file sync is there a way to remove and re-add the index?

Can I export my existing index so I don't lose it and re-upload with a different book short name?

The index is not the problem here because if you unlink the PDF from the index and then view from My Scores you should see the same blank pages.
