Some PDFs do not load properly

Post by evanryan » Sat Nov 25, 2017 9:20 pm

Hello, first time poster. iGigbook has been a great app for me if a little buggy. This last bug I can't seem to shake:

I scanned a batch of music sheets for an upcoming gig, and uploaded the PDFs to my icloud drive, my usual method of transferring them to iGigbook. When I go to download file in My Scores, I see the file, and when I select one it will say "successfully imported (file)". It even displays the file's name and correct number of pages. But it appears to be blank. If I navigate away and then back to the file, it will say (1 of 0) in the page indicator.

I seem to still be able to download other PDFs. I've tried downloading them through Google Drive, same issue.

I'm using an ipad 2. iGigbook version is 5.4.3.

Thanks! Evan

We've done some testing on an iPad 2 and version 5.4.3. With Google Drive we initially received an error with no import however after doing the following we did not receive an error and the PDF imported fine. Here's what we did.

1. Open the Google Drive app and display a PDF.
2. At the top right select the 3 vertical dot icon and select "Send a copy" from the menu.
3. Select "Open in" from the result menu.
4. Select iGigBook to open the PDF in iGigBook

Hi Phil, your workaround worked! The issue is puzzling because I am able to create other PDFs and import them to iGigbook my usual way no problem, but this batch of scanned sheet music PDFs won't go the normal way. Perhaps there is something in the scanned files' DNA that iGigbook rejects. Anyway, I'm glad to have a solution for now.

Thanks for your help, and for the quick turn around. Evan
