Music Library Link

Is it possible to link from My Scores to the Music Library such that different versions of the same chart would link to the same list of tracks?
For example I have Giant Steps.pdf which links to the tracks Giant Steps Slow Playalong, Giant Steps Fast Playalong and Giant Steps John Coltrane. However I also have another version of the chart which has been annotated differently and I would like this to link to the same tracks. Could this be done by using some special character or brackets in the name of the pdf e.g Giant Steps (2).pdf
Thank you

Take a look at How To Play Tracks From Your Music Library which will allow you to devise a strategy to achieve this.

Hi Phil,

Thanks for the quick response. As I see it the only two options I have are to either merge my PDFs into a single document so that different versions of the same chart come as page 1, page 2 and so on, or to duplicate my music tracks renaming them to match my different versions of the chart. Neither is ideal. Have you any other ideas?

Thanks

Chris

Hi Phil,

Sorry to bother you again, but I think I now have a workaround. I discovered by chance that if you select a PDF and then play the music track that it links to you can then page down to the next PDF and the track continues to play. So I can select Giant Steps, set the music going and then page down to Giant Steps (2). Also I'm going to upgrade to an ipad pro so I should be able to have the iGigbook and iTunes apps open at the same time on the screen without having to minimise one before going from one to the other. Hopefully then I can go truly paperless.

I still think it would be neater if one could have something like Giant Steps, Giant Steps *, Giant Steps ** all linking to all the Giant Steps tracks.

Anyway I'm happy to close this off now.

Kind regards

Chris
