Uninstall and Update Crashes Android Cyanomogen

Post by Jason Mason » Sat Oct 06, 2018 6:38 pm

Hi,

I have explored multiples avenues. Problem is Getting PDFs to Display as Songs or anywhere except in File Manager or iGigbook FOLDER. Attempts to correct indices requests UPGRADEto ver 4.7 of app. Devices 2 Nexus 10 Tabs with Android Manta Bootloader and Cyanomogen ROM. Tablet is fine when Igigbook is not used. Explanation.
Attempted to correct the index to RealBook 5th Edition. Used Syncronize icon. Request to UPGRADE necessary. Upgraded OVER the older version.
Crash.Messages: [Trebuchet : Google Play: ES File Manager: Data Usage Provider....all corrupted and unuseable. Restore with TWRP and all OK.
Visitied website: requested REMOVE older version which I did . Rebooted. And attempted to install UPGRADE. Sonn as NEW is installed same messages
appeared. All of them. Now am required to again TWRP restore.
Currently have all these PDFs previously installed in the igigbook Folder....but none show up in igigbook APP. What shows is just the generic Real Books and Cello stuff.
I've restored 2 Nexus tabs each at least 2-3 times to attempt to resolve. This makes the app much less useful. And leaves few avenues of resolution.

Suggestions and help appreciated....I've spend 6-7 hrs attempting to do this on my own unsuccessfully.

This is just a plea to Phil:

The only thing I did not do when I Uninstalled igigbook and then attempted to upgrade was : I did not remove and reestablish the "igigbook folder", which as I remember must be manually created prior to the installation of iGigbook. Without an answer I hesitate to "brick" another Nexus Tab.
So please give me some info here I would like to be able to continue to use the app as previously.
Because I can not sync....I can not access any of my SONGS in the pdf files placed in the iGigbook Folder.

Thanks

I'm not sure why you had to reinstall the OS on your device but once a tablet is up and running and install using the Google Play store should be all that's required to have the app work correctly. Usually the iGigBook folder is created automatically unless you have restricted iGigBook's access to the file system which you change the permissions in Android settings.

Phil,

I have spent many hours and finally have solved most of the problems. However I am still running on the OLDER version of iGigbook.
This means I can not Upgrade. I need to synchronize the tablets in order to get the INDEX CURRENT content. At synchronization the BAR stays at "0". Then requests that I upgrade [4.7.] in order for "syncrony" to be available. If I leave it too long, waiting for synchrony, sometimes it crashes iGigbook AND the Entire Tablet. . I have tried to Upgrade OVER the existing version it [ the tablet with OS ] always crashes. The screen goes black like the BSOD and the only way to restore the Nexus is to RESTORE the original Lineage Manta ROM via TWRPT RESTORE. I must access Android Restore in order to have the tablet even open to the OS. .

I even tried to UNINSTALL the older version of igig and with the new installation it also "crashes" I do not know how to "CLEAN"
the digital remnants [or if they even need to be cleaned out with the uninstall]. So currently I am limited by the original indices.

Because of the "crashes" I felt it best to reinstall the entire system with a RESTORE from the original installation using TWRP. This gives me back
the "older iGIgbook" version without corruption { My Assumption} . And that is how and why I have proceeded as I have. I just rebuild igig after
the Restore.

Any thought helpful

If you have Google Play Services and the Google Play Store app on your device and you are logged in to Google Play with the ID that you used to purchase the app, the app should update. An old version of the app is not going to sync with the iGigBook server.
