Am I Losing My 4 Tap Index Adjustments (or losing my mind)

Most of what I play is from a Set List (named Favorites). If I am playing something from a Book an accurate index is much less important since I can always find what I want by going back or forward a few pages. But when playing from a Set List then you can't back up or go forward a few pages in the Book. So, since I play mostly from my Favorites Set List I have been making many 4 tap index adjustments. But I seem to be losing many of those updates. I make a 4 tap prestidigitation index adjustment and the index for the song is then corrected. Just as advertised. But then several days later the index for the song is wrong again. I haven't been keeping a log of the index adjustments I've made, but I am wondering if the problem might relate to having made other index adjustments in the same book? My searches have not found anyone else reporting this problem. So certainly it may be that I am losing my mind.

Thanks, Bob

You cannot have more than one offset for an index.

That's a very limiting restriction Phil. I hope that you will consider an enhancement to lift it. If you do I hope you will also consider adding to the 4Tap interface the ability to correct the number of pages value.

Thanks, Bob

We create indexes based on the index contained in the actual book. The fundamental assumption that we make is that you have the physical book which has all of the pages in the correct order OR you have a PDF of the book where you have CHECKED that all of the pages are present and in the correct order. When all of the pages are present in the correct order the only adjustment that may be necessary would be the number of pages prior to the first song in the PDF. This is what we refer to as the "offset". The current system covers that and makes it easy, you don't have to do any math, you simply need to enter the page number of the song your are viewing and the correct offset is created for you.

An example of my problem occurs with Real Book Vol II 2nd Edition using the index which you provide and the PDF from Hal Leonard. I can use 4Tap so that, for example, I can go to "I'm Just A Lucky So and So" or "Fly Me To the Moon", but not both. Maybe an Edition issue. I don't know. In any event I think that I have seen instructions here a while back for fixing such a problem but haven't been able to find it.

Thanks, Bob

I don't know where you got the PDF for "Real Book Vol II 2nd Edition" but here's what we know:

The index we provide matches both the physical book and the individual PDF files contained on the Hal Leonard CD for the same book. To the best of our knowledge the CD ROM from Hal Leonard is the only PDF they sell for this book.

Have you verified that the PDF you have has all of the pages present an in the correct order? The PDF we have generated from the individual PDFs from the CD ROM version of this book matches the physical book and the index we provide works correctly with that PDF.

I think I found a bug in version six.
On a pdf in ‘my scores’

Once I create a note with text In the standard yellow background -
I tried to page turn and there’s no page turn until I back out to - my scores and Reselect the song and then I can do a page turn.THX JIMTHEPIANOMAN

This isn't a bug, you need to exit out of edit mode to advance to a new page. We have set it up this way so that moving the note around or sizing it doesn't generate a page turn.
