Cannot Load any PDF's on I gig book

Post by Justinlehmann » Sun Nov 04, 2012 8:59 am

Hi Phil
I just purchased your app a few days ago, and I've been having trouble syncing any real books on here.
I've tried syncing with the I gig book server, changing the names of the real books.
And I've had no success with any, other then the books that come with the app itself.
I'm just wondering if you can help me resolve my issue

Thanks Justin

What is the name of a PDF that you copied to the iGigBook Documents folder using itunes that was named to match an iGigBook book code? How many entries are there in the Book List View?

Oh, so your problem is that you don't have the PDF? If so, I can't help you with that.

I'm confused I thought you were supposed to sync with the site, because thats where the pdf files were located. If they're not then why do we have all these indexes for files we can't access?

Where did you get this idea? Did you read this on our site, this forum or the iGigBook product page on iTunes?

Yes actually it says that on the app itself, it says that here on the forums page, and also says the same on the app info page?
Now it says it doesn't have any actual pdf's, then why are we syncing with the site?

Okay, I see that you do not understand that iGigBook is a Sheet Music Manager and that YOU the user must provide your own sheet music in the form of single sheets or fake books and real books. The reason one syncs with the iGigBook server is to pull down indexes to books that they own and have placed on their device in the iGigBook documents folder, so that they may call up a tune from any book it may appear in. With the indexes the app is able to search through multiple books to find a song. Without the indexes you would have to check the table of contents of each book manually to determine if the song is in that PDF and then advance to the page it is on. People that purchase iGigBook usually do so because it offers this feature and they recognize how valuable this feature can be while on a gig or in just finding things in their musical library.
