Set List Manager doesn't really sort A-Z, Z-A

Post by taylorfusion » Tue Jun 04, 2013 10:20 pm

Trying to have my tunes sorted alphabetically but it does an uneven job. Seems to not allow me to sort recently added tunes to set list, i.e. they always stay at bottom of list.

And I also notice my imported scans seem to always get "p.1" added to prefix of my actual (single paged) title which might be something like "lyrics_Title"

I don't want to manually edit this prefix out. Is it some kind of tag? The title is unique so not sure how it ends up on their by defualt but would like it dropped so I can find things per the above solution (alphabetize)

thanks

If you sort a set list and then add tunes to it, the tunes you add are naturally going to be at the bottom. If that's not what you want, you can use the sort feature in the Set List Mangager to sort the set list again. Having the list perpetually sorted would result in you not being able to repostion an item outside of the alphabetical order.

p.#, where # in this case = 1, is the page number of the score added to a set list. If all your using are single page PDF files this may seem strange but often times multiple pages are pulled from a PDF and placed in a set list and the default naming convention is to append p.# to the name of the PDF file. If you want something other than that, you can create a bookmark which will have any title that you want and then you can add that to your set list.

Well, that's what intuitively I tried but it just stays at the bottom.

So did I reach the "perpetual" limit in that it won't sort after "X" number of times?

There's no limit to how many times you can sort and from my test this functionality works as it is supposed to. This isn't to say you are not experiencing something different. What you can do is take a screen capture of your list before sorting and then after sorting and post it here, that way we can be both be clear as to what you are talking about.

Wierd...now it's sorting properly. It' slike it has a timeout value or something. Went to same place in Set List Manager. Did same thing. Verified not working as well in Gig Set Viewer...Went to take photo after leaving alone for 10 minutes or so..repeated all and worked first time.

Thanks will see later if can repeat behaviour
