I took my iPad to a gig where there is no wifi . Guess what? No wifi, no igigbook. So it is utterly useless to me unless there is some way to load the files onto the iPad hard drive the way some games, etc. are. The ads are deceptive, because nowhere do they say you have to have wifi to use it. So I guess I wasted 15 bucks. Too bad. It's a nice idea.
iGigBook does not require WiFi to operate. It does require WiFi to sync with the iGigBook server and the assumption is that when you purchase the app which requires WiFi, you will run the app and at that time it will pull down the indexes. You do not have to use indexes to use the app but if you are going to use indexes you have to have WiFi to pull the indexes down from the iGigBook server.
