Hi Phil
Is there a way for me to reassign BlueBoard's C and D switches for my own purposes whilst using Switches A and B for turning pages in iGigBook? Or is there a way for me to set up BlueBoard's A and B switches to use CC's to turn pages in iGigBook? I normally use an AirTurn to turn pages but just bought a BlueBoard, hoping to use the 2 extra switches (C & D) for my own purposes.

No, you cannot rearrange what the buttons do with regards to iGigBook.

Ok. Is there a way to configure iGigBook to turn pages in response to MIDI commands?

The iRig BlueBoard doesn't natively send MIDI commands, it require IK Multimedia's companion app to do this. iGigBook was one of the first apps to interact directly with the pedal without the companion app. The answer is no, iGigBook won't turn pages in response to MIDI commands because it interacts directly with the pedal and not the companion app which provides the MIDI functionality.

MIDI commands for page turning?

Hi Phil
I saw your reply in the BlueBoard thread but I didn't want to clutter that thread with potentially non-BlueBoard related information.

Does iGigBook respond to any MIDI commands (or key switches) at all that will turn pages? The reason I ask is because I have several MIDI foot pedalboards that I'd prefer to use for page-turning because the extra switches on those boards can be used for additional functions with my setup, and I'd like to try and avoid using multiple pedalboards if possible.

I'm not sure if you're aware but BlueBoard now supports 3 different MIDI modes but only one the original Mode A requires the use of the BlueBoard app; if you want to use the 2 other modes, you simply turn on BlueBoard whilst holding down either the B or C switches. Mode B transmits MIDI notes and Mode C transmits CCs. Other score-reading apps already use MIDI Learn that enables users to use MIDI commands to turn pages and perform other functions, and it'd be fantastic if iGigBook could also do this.

If iGigBook doesn't currently support the use of MIDI CCs to turn pages, is there any chance this could be incorporated? I can imagine that plenty of users may take advantage of using MIDI commands to turn pages rather than being locked into dedicated (and sometimes costly) pedals, especially if they already own MIDI-capable pedals.

Not sure if you're aware but BlueBoard now DOES natively send MIDI commands if used in Mode B or C, neither of which requires the companion app.

iGigBook does not have support for MIDI input only MIDI output. We don't have any plans for adding support for MIDI pedals to turn pages primarily because there are so many options available to a musician with respect to page turning devices. You can use bluetooth pedals that emulate keyboards, you can use the iRig Blueboard or you can use an iPhone/iPod to turn pages.
