Airturn BT 105 and iGig Book

Post by David Dow » Sun Jul 07, 2013 3:45 pm

Hi, I have an iPad3 OS 5.1.1 and an Air Turn BT105. Page turns are very reliable in The Gig Easy and iReal b apps. However, in iGig Book in the Gig Set Viewer, sometimes I get one page turn, no page turn or 2 page turns with one foot press. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you

We've tested the current version of the app with a Bluetooth keyboard and it seems to function correctly and consistently with respect to turning pages forwards with a press of the down arrow key and backwards with a press of the up arrow key.

We don't own the Airturn BT 105 and unfortunately cannot offer any specific help with that pedal.

Phil,

I suggest you reach out to Hugh or Lester at AirTurn, they might supply you with a unit for testing. The AirTurn is by far the best solution out there for turning pages hands-free on the iPad. There is an SDK for fully implementing AirTurn support in your app - it does some clever things with regards to dealing with the way iOS supports HIDs. I really wish that it worked with your app as well as it does with TheGigEasy, ForScore, unRealbook.

It seems I have to place songs into a set before I can even use the AirTurn to turn pages? This is not practical in most gigging/jamming situations.

Regards

Brian

I gig a lot and I use iGigBook and I use iGigBook Pager with an iPod as my hands free turning solution which works great. For the user that has an iPod or an iPhone they can use a device they already own as a hand free turning solution for no additional cost to them.

I'll be more than happy to use the Airturn API to support their pedal when they provide it FREE TO ALL DEVELOPERS. Currently they want to charge developers $99 for the API and out of principal I cannot provide enhanced support for the pedal.
