iGigBook doesn't work, drops wifi

I'm trying to run iGigBook on an LG Gpad with Lollipop 5.1, which is listed on viewtopic.php?f=13&t=1309 as being supported. When I tap the name of any PDF in iGigBook, including "How to Register," I get a "Downloading file" screen for a while, remaining at 0%, and it never downloads. The really ridiculous part is that wifi no longer works on the device (it can't obtain an IP address) until I configure the tablet to "forget" about the local wifi and then find it again. This happens every time I tap a pdf name in iGigBook, including all the "tap here for help" ones. viewtopic.php?f=13&t=1151 describes a "Sample Book," and while I don't see that I do see "Colorado Cookbook." Clicking on any song title there just gets me a blank screen. Trying to register dropped the wifi as well. How do I get iGigBook to work?

It sounds like you have a WiFi problem with your device. All iGigBook does is request services from the connection and that would be the same as a web browser or any other app using WiFi. It does not turn WiFi on or off. If possible you can try using a different WiFi connection.

I have tried it with different wifi servers. It's definitely iGigBook's problem, because different browsers, email clients, etc. all work fine with this device. No other program did this before.

If you have icons in your Book List view that means that data was downloaded to your device which means WiFi did work otherwise you wouldn't see the item "Tap Here For Help" nor would you see the list of items once you select that item. It's curios that individual help items aren't downloading to your device however if you're pressing and holding any of the icons on the Book List view you need to provide a URL that points to an actual PDF otherwise nothing will happen. iGigBook doesn't download the PDF files for the indexes that you see. If you want to use the direct download feature of the Book List view you will need a URL that is pointing to a PDF sitting on a server somewhere.

Have you tried registering from the app? If yes, what user name did you use? If no, try registering even if you have tried to do so in the past.

As I wrote in my first message, trying to register dropped the wifi as well. I'm using the username bobducharme.

I just tapped "03 List of PDF Indexes" under "NEED HELP? TAP HERE" and it said "Downloading File" for a while, without the progress bar moving at all, and on the right the message box just says 0/100 the whole time. Eventually, I get a plain white page. I touch that, and I get the same "Downloading File..." message box.

And, now that I've tried that, no other app on my device can access wifi anymore.

iGigBook does not enable or disable WiFi, it only uses a connection if there is one available. We have not seen this kind of behavior on any device we own(Nexus 7, Nexus 10, Galaxy Tab Pro 10.1, 12.2) nor has anyone else reported such an issue. On July 5th it appears that's when you purchased the app and it loaded the default set of indexes from our server. What apps have you installed since that time? Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app?

I just uninstalled, rebooted, and reinstalled, and still get the same behavior.

I'm giving up until I get some other tablet some day and then I'll try it there.

I am trying to set up igigbook a Samsung tablet for an elderly friend. I am seeing this same problem. I have copied all files from my ipad igigbook to his device folder I made and called igigbook. That worked using a cable. All the standard books work, but none of my own scores show. When I refresh the screen it shows refreshing 0% and nothing happens. Also, no set lists are visible, though they were copied too. Email and browser working fine.

So I thought I would try to register through app . Internet connection to does not work .

Try closing any other suspended apps you have on the Samsung tablet and then try refreshing the My Scores view. We can't trouble shoot your wifi issues, every tablet we've used we haven't had a problem with a working wifi connection.

Hi Phil

I don't think this is a WiFi problem. Email and browser works fine. Like for the user that started this thread.

I am wondering why the my scores display needs WiFi to refresh and show me all the files I loaded up to the tablet by cable? But it is true that registering did seem to fail. But there was no error message. It just did nothing.
