Can't access my Igigbook mobile.

Post by lamillonzi » Tue Jan 14, 2014 6:09 pm

I was connected to my PC, in iTunes, in the App File Sharing section. I wanted to add some indexes. I minimized the iTunes page and left the iPhone connected. On the internet I accessed "My Book Setting" pages and activated ones to send. I got the iTunes screen back up, and the Book List page up on iGigBook. I pressed the Sync icon to load the active indexes. Instead, I got a message indicating I need to update to 1.94 (I'm presently using 1.82). I tried to sync again but got the same message.
Now when I try to access iGigBook from my iPhone it shows the opening page in the program then immediately goes back to the apps page. When I try to update, the same thing happens.
I am only using 4.6GB out of 8.7 on my iPhone.
What caused this? and how can I get my program back? Will I lose all the book data I had? Do I need to try and delete the app and purchase it again?

You don't have to purchase the app again, do not try to uninstall it unless specifically told to. Here are some things to check:

1. The settings app on your device has a section for iGigBook Mobile which will show what the current version is. if it's 1.94 you are current if not, you should try the update from the device NOT connected to your computer.

2. What version of IOS are you running?

3. Be sure to copy the contents of the iGigBook Documents folder to a folder on your hard drive.

1. I'm running 1.82. When I try to update without being connected to the computer, I have the same problem. The program appears for about 1 second and then I'm back on the app page of my phone.

2. I'm running iOS 7.0.4 which is the current version.

3. Before the problem occurred, I fortunately saved all the book data to my PC.

Current version of iGigBook Mobile is 1.94, download the update from the app store, you don't need to uninstall.

I tried updating to 1.94 from the App Store but I have the same problem. When I press OPEN, it goes to the Igigbook mobile program for about 1 second and then kicks me back to the App page on my cell phone. I still have the same problem. I can't access Igigbook. What can I do?

Did you download the update? Meaning when you go to the settings app and scroll down to where you see iGBMobile and you select the icon do you see that the current version is 1.94?

Try the following steps:

1. Exit out of the app completely by pressing the home key twice which will display a list of suspended apps in the tray, swipe them up to remove them from the tray.

2. Connect your device to your computer and using iTunes go to the file sharing section for iGBMobile and delete the file named: AppState.plist.

3. Disconnect your device and try to launch the app.

Per your instructions, I went to the file sharing section for iGMobile and located the AppState.plist file, but I don't know how to delete it. The only options I have are to Add or Save To.

Just use the delete key on your keyboard.

Per your instructions: 1. Pressed the home key twice and swiped all suspended apps up to remove them from the tray.
2. Connected iPhone to PC and deleted AppState.plist file.
3. Disconnected iPhone and tried to launch the Igigbook app.
Same problem. I see a page of the app for about 1-2 seconds and then I'm kicked back on the app page. I can barely make out text on the page in those 1-2 seconds, but it appears to say "0 PDF's present". I never saw that before.

Rather than spending your time and mine on trying to figure this problem out, how about the following:
1. I will attempt to delete the Igigbook program.
2. I will purchase a new program from you and install it.
My only concern is, what happens to the 1.2 gigs of book data that is presently in my phone?
Will the new program find it? If not, do I load all the book files again. Is there then a way to delete the old book data?

Try this instead.

1. Back up the contents the the iGigBook Mobile documents folder to a folder on your computer using iTunes.
2. Delete the contents of the iGigBook Mobile documents folder on your device.
3. Turn off wireless, i.e. set the device to airplane mode
4. Try launching the app.
5. If the app launches, go to the book list view and select the icon a the top right that looks like a person and log out.
6. Select the the icon that looks like a person again and enter your log in credentials but don't select the log in button.
7. Turn on wireless i.e. exit airplane mode
8. Return to the app and select the log in button.
9. Press the sync button

Now if after these steps you are able to access the app without it crashing, add the content that you backed up with the exception of the appstate.plist file back to the device. You might want to do this in blocks of 5 to 10 files and check the functionality of the app after adding because you may have a bad file.
