Sorry for any delay in replying. Life does tend to intrude.

Backing up when 2.66 was installed? Well, no, I did not.

C'est la vie.

The iGig Pager is tragically a lost entity to me, then, or will be until Mrs Darkk gets a new iPhone and gives me her old one to replace my outdated old steam-powered iPod Touch 4th Generation that will no longer allow me to turn my iGigbook pages. Hopefully, her grimy old phone will still be serviceable for such purposes and technology will not by then already have hyper jumped into the next dimension.

And all this prompts from me yet another question that is not on topic for this thread but I'll ask it here anyway.

If Mr Hap E. iGigBookuser were perfectly content with iGigbook version 2.66, could he have it such that he could update iGigbook when he was ready to and prevent iGigbook from updating itself? Is that answer yes, is it no, or is that answer something else?

As always, I appreciate your response and look toward it with lively anticipation.

The default for iOS seems to be to automatically download updates, you can switch that off though.

Hi I have read everything on this board and tried everything I cannot get ipager to connect to my ipad. I have a iphone 5s and a ipad2
I have tried all the settings and it just never works. Please advise and help me to solve this problem.

Hi Phil thanks for your response...After figuring out the numbers (I know it was newer then that...) I have a third generation ipad 2013 or 14.
I have gone thru all the explanations here and the pager never turns green. I have tried with all the different configurations.
It would be really great to be able to turn pages...I am a bass plaer and cannot take my hands off the instrument so I really want this to work. Can you help me?
thanks
P

You need an iPad 3 or greater, which has more advanced bluetooth hardware to use iGigBook Pager.

You have to enable BLE for both iGigBook Pager on the iPod/iPhone and iGigBook on the iPad. The last post in this How To has screen shots which should assist you:

My mistake, 4th generation iPod will not support BLE. In non-BLE mode, iGigBook Pager will only connect while viewing a chart from the Gig Set View.
As I wrote months ago, because I have an iPod 4th Generation that doesn't support BLE, I'm stuck without my iGigBook Pager until Mrs. Darkk upgrades her phone.

Welp, she's upgraded to some new iPhone. It does everything and the size of it is YUUUUUGE. I asked her does it also ding after it heats her coffee up.

But I kid.

Anyway, now I have my wife's ex-phone, which is an iPhone 5c.

Question 1: Am I and the iGigBook Pager good to go with the iPhone 5c?

Question 2: If the answer to Question 1 is yes, must I re-download the Pager app from the iTunes store? or,

Question 3: Assuming the answer to Question 2 is no, then do I take it correctly that I can put the Pager app still in my iTunes to Mrs. Darkk's ex-phone?

Thank you as ever. Hope you had a Merry Christmas and will have a happy new year. I look forward to hearing from you with lively anticipation.

Yes, this will work with the 5C and all you have to do is log into the app store on the device with the same account info as when you downloaded iGigBook Pager and you should be all set. Once you login and you go to the "Purchased" tab, you should see iGigBook Pager with a little cloud beside it.

Exactomundo!

Last night at rehearsal I tried using my wife's ex-phone, an unlocked iPhone 5c, for page turning. I forgot the phone holder thingy that I used to wear velcro-ed around my calf. Instead, I just rolled up my pants leg and stuck the phone in my sock. It worked beautifully after a few adjustments on the sensitivity.

Connection time is vastly improved with BLE and, if last night's trial of a few hours is any indication, reliability as well.

Excellent. Five stars.

This is great to hear! This is my go to setup when I need to read from my device, it connects quickly and is easy to control and I don't have to aim for the pedal with my foot, one less thing to think about.
