Edit list order of MIDI events

Post by Maddcow » Fri Apr 21, 2017 12:08 pm

Hi Phil. Is it possible to implement an edit/re-reorder function so that the list of MIDI events can be rearranged i.e. change the order of events so that more commonly-used events can be placed at the top of the list etc. An additional feature to sort the events alphabetically would also be helpful. At the moment, the order of events can't be changed and it appears to be in the order that events were created, which isn't very helpful when trying to quickly find particular events in a long list.

Cheers,
Gary

Explain a bit how you're using this. Why is your list long?

My list is long because I have a lot of instrument program changes for my electronic wind controller, in addition to a lot of control changes for my acoustic saxes (e.g. FX changes, EQ changes etc) that are configured in MainStage. I'm currently setting up setlists for some upcoming gigs and each song will send MIDI events to MainStage...having a long list of events in no particular order makes finding a particular event a bit time-consuming, especially when most lists in apps these days can be edited or sorted, or use alphabetical sorting by default.

I just found that iGigBook does sort MIDI events alphabetically, but it appears to do this only after the app is closed and then restarted. It's better than nothing but the ability to manually re-order the list would be very helpful.
