LOL I just had a great example of the difficulty with the current result order. Tonight’s set list includes the song “More” for some reason. Adding it in the Set Manager, I found 299 matches for the song title, including “More Than You Know,” “The More I See You,” etc. I’ve already typed the full name so I can’t provide any additional letters; so I must scroll down many pages to find the handful of versions I’m interested in using. This was such a funny extreme example that I thought I’d share it.

When I do this, the first 5 entries are the song "More" followed by results that have additional words.

Right, but my results include many later songs titled 'More' that were found in My Scores bookmark entries. In any given search, I have some matches via indexes and some matches via bookmarks. That's the great advantage of having integrated searches that look both in the indexes and the bookmarks -- I can see all the possible candidates. But with this title, the other versions of the song are way, way down the list.

I realize there isn't an easy solution. I just thought this was a better example of how it affects daily use for some of us. It's no doubt more of an issue for people like me -- I count 122 bookmarked PDFs in My Scores. So if there were a separate button to "sort results" (analogous to the "sort set list" button), it would save me a lot of head scratching. But again, I can imagine this would not be straightforward.

Using the scenario you cited...

The first entries are the song "More", selecting the My Scores switch gives rise to 12 results 2 from "Unindexed Scores" the rest from bookmarks.

Why aren't you using this approach?

Using the scenario you cited...

The first entries are the song "More", selecting the My Scores switch gives rise to 12 results 2 from "Unindexed Scores" the rest from bookmarks.

Why aren't you using this approach?
Several points.

1. I find that the version I choose is equally likely to come from indexed books versus bookmarked PDFs. So typically I'll either wind up picking one of the Real Book or New Real Book entries, *or* one of my many bookmarked versions. But because it's roughly 50/50, it's preferable for me to scan through all the matching results. "More" is an unusual case -- if I'm looking for "Line for Lyons" a search for "Lyons" will give me all the charts of interest of both types. I rarely know which group will have the chart I'll pick, unless somebody says "Use the Real Book 6th Edition version."

2. The most common case for me is searching in "Song Search" on the bandstand, and this view does not have the "My Scores" switch. Besides, I'd rather see all the matches in Song Search, versus only half the matches under My Scores. (Again, "More" is an unusual situation chosen to highlight the issue.)

3. In my example, when I use Set Manager to look for My Scores matches for "More", I get 188 matches, starting with these below. Tunes titled "More" appear every so often amid the many others. So I have to scroll through them.

Dick Hyman's 100 More Tunes.pdf
Even More Songs of the 80s.pdf
Charles Mingus More Than a Fake Book.pdf
Aebersold Play Along Vol 65 Four and More.pdf
I just Dont Look Good Naked Anymore
Thats Amore
Don't Get Around Much Anymore
A Little Bit More
Little Bit More, A
Don't Get Around Much Anymore
More I See You, The
More (Ti Guardero Ne Cuore)
Yesterday Once More
Baltimore
Frog-i-more Rag
Humoresque
I'm More Than Satisfied
Just One More Chance
More <--- the first exact match
...followed by 169 other matches.

I hope that clarifies my choice of interface. If I'm missing some better way, of course, I'm all ears.
