"Active" book indexes won't appear in iPhone.

Post by Robert Rosenthal » Sun Oct 06, 2013 5:28 pm

I have a number of active book indexes that appear in my iPad, but not on the iPhone. They are properly checked in myigigbook.com. I have synched several times. That was helpful getting some books, but not all. And being limited to two tried a day makes it hard to experiment. What else can I do?

You need to be logged into the app with the same user name and password for the same exact list to appear in the Book List View. When you installed iGigBook Mobile on your iPhone did you log in with your user name and password that you use for my.igigbook.com? If no, this is what you need to do.

This thread has a post which details the steps you need to take on your iPhone to be logged in with the correct use name and password.

Thank you for the quick response. I think I logged in with the same user name and password when I purchased the mobile app. Maybe not. I'll try your solution. Will I have to reconfigure all of the books that are currently working on the ipad? There was some trial and error required to get the pages to sync with the indexes. If I have to do all that, it might make sense to delete the app from the iPhone and start all over.

When you log in with the user name and password you use with my.igigbook.com on your iPhone, iGigBook will pull the same indexes with the same offsets all you will need to do is add the same PDF files.

i am missing something. on the iphone, i logged in using the same user name and password as when i purchased the app. i put all of the books into the igbmobile documents window. then i synced. the iphone is still showing only 23 indexes and 7 books present. on the ipad, i have 33 indexes and 16 books present. i don't know what i'm missing. but this is getting very frustrating. and i need to sync.

Did you press the sync button at the top of the Book LIst View on the iPhone? From what I can see you haven't.

i did not. but when i tried, it says i have reached my max for the day. am i reaching my max every time i sync my iphone to the computer? if you can unlock me to try, it wouldbe great. otherwise, i'll have to wait for tomorrow. i'm not sure i understand the two syncs a day, but i'm sure it is explained somewhere.

also, do i need to do that while i've got the iphone connected to the computer, or is it a sync with igigbook that doesn't require a connection to my computer to make the indexes appear?

When I say sync, I mean press the sync button at the top of the Book List View on your device which does not need to be connected to your computer. If you did an iTunes sync, that's not going to help you. You may need to follow the instructions that I provided in the link above again.

i understood that sync from your last post. but i'm getting the maximum number of sync message every time i try. so i have not been able to do it. The ipad still syncs perfectly. As a test, I removed some indexes for which I don't have the books. There was no trouble with that. it is just the iphone.
