Sleep mode

Post by spinality » Tue Feb 09, 2016 3:49 am

I thought that iGigBook prevented the device from going to sleep, but I was surprised to find my iPad Pro go dark tonight. Perhaps I am wrong and I've always just turned off auto-lock. Is there any way to keep the screen from blanking other than turning off auto-lock? Thanks if you can clarify. Searching the forum for 'auto lock' gets nothing and 'sleep' isn't much better.

Details are needed... Do you know where you were at in the app? How much battery power remaining?

Ah, I take it this means it should have stayed awake, that's great to hear. I was viewing the titles in a set list, i.e. no music was displayed. I had over 90% power. I simply turned off auto-lock for the rest of the job.

When you're viewing music, auto-lock is disabled and enabled to whatever your settings are when not viewing music.

Ah, thanks, that explains it. I guess I haven't encountered this before because on my small iPad I have auto-lock disabled, and on Android I disable auto-lock using app-specific rules.

Would it be hard to for you also to disable auto-lock when viewing a setlist? When playing tunes from memory, I usually prefer to leave the set list up, rather than going to the chart. I'm often picking the next piece as I'm finishing the one I'm playing, and glancing through the list is helpful. Moreover, unlocking the screen between tunes is not desirable.

I'd prefer not to disable auto-lock globally, but for now that's what I'll have to do. I understand if this would be difficult though. Thanks either way.

I have just recently encountered this problem with the new upgrade to version 6. The screen turns off even when viewing music. How do I bypass this? I am using an iPad Pro, plenty of power left.

What version of iGigBook are you running? Current version is 6.1.1.

I am running the most recent upgrade. I purchased the drawing feature to use my Apple Pencil. If this is 6.1.1 then that is what I have.

I am thinking it’s some kind of setting but I don’t know what. I have attached screen shots of my settings on my iPad Pro.

Not sure what has changed but I left it on for 10 minutes and it was fine. I will try to duplicate the issue when it happened last.
