Do not get this app if you're thinking of downloading from iTunes, or iBook, or any Apple SW. It will not work. Why iGig doesn't tell you this in the info section is perhaps because they don't want to. I've registered and looked at other complaints about this and the iGig tech support guy is quite unapologetic about not including that in the advertising info. Nice....

Apple designed iOS in such a way that applications do not share data, there are exceptions to this with the "Open In" functionality. Usually when you purchase items using iBooks those items can only be used in iBooks because by design the publisher has used DRM (Digital Rights Management) to control what you can and can not do with that content. You the user must take responsibility for knowing what you're buying and how you can use what you're buying. We gladly answer questions but we cannot know every possible thing a person will ask or what they will think.

In the advertising for iGigBook in the iTunes App Store we encourage you to ask questions before you buy...

Got questions? Ask them before you buy. If you're not sure what this app does or whether or not it will do what you want, visit forum.igigbook.com and ask questions, we will help you.

I have five Realbooks from itunes store in ibooks. I too assumed that Igigbook had taken this into account. I used Calibre to move them from ibook format to pdf. The result was super. But when brought into Igigbook, they index was a mess and pages were missing. Why should I spend 3 hours doing this when it does not meet the needs in the end?

If the content you purchased does not match the publishers physical offering it will not work with the index that iGigBook provides which is based on the physical book not the DRM offering which isn't in PDF format.

In the case of the Real Books what's offered in the physical book is different from what's offered in the eBook (Kindle, iBooks, etc), you can readily see that here:

Real Book V Differences in eBook and Physical Book
