Did you also follow the additional instructions is the links I provided above? If yes, you can back up your iGigBook Documents folder, uninstall the app and then reinstall it. I believe an uninstall is not required but it hard to tell because people that have had a problem haven't reported back that their problem was resolved.

Same here - what's the deal?

I also keep getting a box popping up telling me that an internet connection is required when I am already online.

SiteAdmin wrote:iGigBook version 1.83 has minor bug fixes and improvements and will automatically attempt to sync with the iGigBook Server to insure that the index data is current and in a format that will work with this version. This means that when you run the app the first time after updating, you will need an internet connection. Here are the steps you should follow to ensure a successful update to version 1.83:
  • Navigate to the Book List View
  • Completely exit out of iGigBook, by pressing the home key twice followed by pressing and holding any app in the tray until the red minus sign appears. Select the red minus sign for iGigBook.
  • Update the iGigBook app from the App Store app on your device.
  • Run iGigBook immediately after updating.
If you are on your way to a gig and intend to use iGigBook: DO NOT UPDATE the app!

If you are between sets on a gig and are bored: DO NOT UPDATE the app!

Have done this and now when I load the app I just get a black screen... nothing at all... worse than before!

Sorry to leave another post - but I thought that you would appreciate the feedback. After spending quite a while 'fiddling' in the app and in the my.gigbook.com page with no real success, I decided to follow this piece of advice and back up the files (just a copy and paste job out of the file sharing area in iTunes into a folder on my desktop) and delete the app - this took some guts, as I've got alot of sets, annotations etc set up

I then re-installed the app and copied all the files back into the app overwriting, when asked, the duplicate files. The only file that I DID NOT copy back over from the backup was AppState.plist as this seems to be the cause of problems in other posts.

I'm glad to report that Igigbook is now working again...

PPPPHHHHEEEEWWWWWWWWW!

Please don't do this to me again... I can't handle the stress! ;)

Phil, this update is ridiculous. I've loved your product for a year and a half and talk about it with other musicians all the time, but this update performing like this is awful. I am so frustrated. I had to dug up paper charts for a job tonight. I know I'm just bitching but I don't want to have to figure this out. So disappointing.

I can understand you being frustrated, but all you need to do is the following:

Back up the iGigBook Documents folder to your computer.
Uninstall the app
Reinstall the app
Copy the contents of iGigBook Documents folder from your computer to your device.
Done!

So now it has stopped instant crashing... But now ALL my Book List is gone. My books are showing in My Scores. Others have posted the same problem.

With all due respect, this is a major blunder.

What happens when you press the sync button at the top right of the Book List view?

When I press synch, nothing appears and it times me out before I can synch again. I have a completely blank Book List screen.

Not sure if you fixed it, or if it sorted itself out. IT IS FIXED. Thank you for the help. Even though you gave us a good scare, you have amazing communication and help here. Thanks for everything. I bought an iPad just for this app!
