We had a user after trying a number of email variations manage to register with an email address that contains the iGigBook product name which we do not allow. We notified this user by email about this issue and here's the complete email chain.

I don't, you idiot. I own the entire domain I was using, and I always register my email address as the domain at ideasculptor.com, so that when I start getting spam to a particular address, I know exactly who leaked my private contact info, and I can take action accordingly - and it happens with remarkable regularity that I start getting spammed at such addresses within hours or days of my registering at a new website, which is exactly why I have to use such defensive measures in the first place. I have absolutely no interest in getting email at the address that uses your trademark from ANY party but yourselves - which is why the address exists at all - except now I have no interest in receiving mail from YOU at that address, either. Congratulations on losing yourselves a paying customer and getting a really shitty review in the process.

And incidentally, it is my right to create an email address with any username I please on an internet domain that I own, for my own personal use. Your trademark gives you absolutely ZERO say in my private, non-commercial affairs, so you might want to amend your tone by a wide fucking margin.

Since you have chosen to institute communication with abject rudeness and not the slightest consideration for or curiousity about context, allow me to close by saying Go. Fuck. Yourself.

By all means, feel free to petition a court to bar me from using any damn email I please on a domain that I have owned for 25+ years. But it is a legitimate and legal email address where I can receive communication that you may want to send me. Why do you imagine you have any say over the unique identifiers people choose to use to communicate with over the internet? And really, if you do NOT want people all over the internet to start using email addresses named after your company in order to do nefarious or unpleasant things that might damage your professional reputation, do you imagine that antagonizing strangers on the internet for no reason is something resembling a good idea?

You charged me $10 for the privilege of using your product, and then revoked my access based entirely on a term of service that you made up out of thin air. That is the very definition of a fraudulent sale.

It's particularly rich to receive criticism about perfectly legitimate use of your trademark from someone whose living is made from selling a product whose only purpose is to enable the inappropriate, unethical, and illegal use of trademarked and copyrighted sheet music. You're the very epitome of a hypocrite. You make a living from theft of intellectual property while trying to claim some kind of moral high ground about perfectly legitimate use of your trademark.

So imagine my surprise, when I thought to check, when I realized that you don't even HAVE a trademark on the igigbook term. You're being a dick for no good reason whatsoever. You are defending the indefensible. At least pay your damn registration bill if you are going to try to play a legal tough guy on the internet.

I'm impressed at the extent you are willing to go to sully your own reputation online. Do you imagine that I'm not going to publish your emails to facebook groups and other online forums where musicians gather - the kind of places where I first learned of your product so long ago? How do you imagine this is going to play out for you and your business? Because your rudeness and unpleasantness isn't costing me anything, but it is likely to cost you much.

If you have links to competent mental health providers, I strongly suggest you make use of them for yourself. I did not pick this fight, nor have I insisted on dragging it out. You, on the other hand, have gone out of your way to start an unnecessary conflict with me, and have subsequently reinforced that choice by continuing to offer insults and rudeness, even in the face of an explanation that clearly puts you 100% at fault and in the wrong. But by all means, carry on - see if your product ever gets mentioned in jam of the week or other forums without an immediate response referencing the way you choose to do business with documentary evidence provided. It'd be a real shame if friends like Rick Beato or Aimee Nolte were to speak on their youtube channels about the treatment and harassment I've received from you for an action as innocent as naming an email address after the company it was used to register with. And you better believe that Apple will be receiving a note and documentary evidence of your mental health comment above - along with a note strongly suggesting they cut ties with your business entirely. I'm sure that'll go over real well with the company that likely serves as the source for at least half of your product's revenue.

I have no idea - you don't seem to be reading my emails at all. But I do know that apple make it very clear in THEIR terms of service about whether they tolerate discrimination from their developers. How do you imagine that mental health comment of yours is going to go over at apple? Don't you suppose they have a vested interest in keeping developers who are abusive of customers off of their own store? Do you reckon Google is more tolerant of medical discrimination over in their walled garden? Are you curious just what kind of access someone who worked there for 5 years might have within a company like Google? Go ahead, do a linkedin search if you haven't already. Keep digging - the hole you are shoveling away at doesn't seem to feel deep enough for you yet...
