iGigBook crashing on iPad Air

Post by reidster » Sun Dec 07, 2014 4:52 pm

Hey all, sorry if this has been resolved already...but iGigBook keeps crashing on my iPad Air. It basically goes like this:

1. Open the App.
2. Select the "Gig Set Viewer".
3. Select a song (and it pops up no problem).
4. Watch the App close as you're playing the song.

This doesn't go over well when you're at a gig. Like last night. When my band was just starting the first song of the set. Argh!!!

I'm willing to uninstall, restart the iPad, and reinstall. But will I lose all my info? Has anyone found a fix for this? It's a relatively new problem for me. Makes the app basically unusable.

Thanks,
Reid

What version of iOS? What version of the App? In the Settings App under General, is Background App Refresh enabled or disabled?

Hey Phil, I'll tell you what I know...

iPad version is 8.1.

App version is 2.60

What I don't know is if the Background App Refresh is enable or disabled. Here's why...it doesn't show up under my Apps! Why on earth would that be? Especially when I use it all the time...

Thanks for any help you can offer.

Reid

There's an app called Settings, it's were you turn wireless, bluetooth on and off, it where you set brightness, etc.

Hey Phil, I get that - I'm just saying the App doesn't show up there. Not under "General" and "Background App Refresh" settings anyway. It does show up in the list of apps under "Settings" in general. Just not in the list of all Apps under "General" then "Background App Refresh".

Is there something I can do under "Settings" that might make it stop crashing? There are a few things that are not turned on under "Settings":

BLE
Stop Play On View Exit
One Book Mode

I don't know if turning any of those options on would help?

Thanks.

Background App Refresh - Located in the Settings App under General.

If you have a bunch of apps suspended you should probably close them.

Which is "Background App Refresh" supposed to be, enabled or disabled? I'm not clear from the above three responses.

And the reason I ask, this may have been what happened to me the other night. Version 8.1.2, iGig version 2.60, I was in the middle of a tune when the pdf I had on the screen vanished and I was left looking at a screen full of icons. This happened on two different occasions perhaps an hour apart.

Nothing else was going on. I was playing and doing nothing more than looking at the screen.

So the question is: Do I enable or disable "Background App Refresh"?

Thanks in advance.

Welp, I found my answer in another thread (viewtopic.php?f=2&t=1261&start=20): Disable "Background App Refresh."

I'll bookmark the above-referenced thread and see what develops. It looks like that same wrinkle.

Ta-ta. I'm off to disable "background app whatchamathingy."
