export Set Manager | Clear Results? how?

Post by taylorfusion » Sun Jan 12, 2020 8:45 pm

I am seeking to export all of my Sets in Set Manager from iPad2 to iPadPro but can't find a topic here on the subject. Also, I do see an advise "Clear Results first..." but only see "Copy ..." and "Add..." in the Set Manager.

Is it possible to get those Sets to show up in Set manager? Is this the same thing as Exporting from Gig Set View (without the pdfs)?

I'd still like to know about the warning "Clear results..." still.

thanks

There is no "export all of my sets" which is why you don't see a topic on it. Check the How To section for transferring to a new iOS device.

Yes, I’ve read viewtopic.php?f=22&t=1802#p7088 but there is no mention of dealing with exporting the Set Manager contents.

Also, still need to ‘clear results’ from Song Search Results per the advise. No mention of that, that I can find.

There's no mention because it copies all of the files from one device to another which includes set list files, notation, etc.

You clear search results by pressing the cancel button (x) to the right of the text field. That's explained in How To Use The Set List Manager.

When I read viewtopic.php?f=22&t=1230

there is this mention: "Search Results - When you type in a song title in the search box at the top left..."

..is it not in the top right?

Clicking the "x" in that field did clear my results, thank you.

I've copied the .plist files off of my iPad2 to a folder on my Windows Desktop (old iTunes but can see the iGigBook folder. itunes on the new iPad Pro is a completely different looking app and so I had used Dropbox to essentially Export > iGigbook pdfs just fine, but the .plist files are not getting recognized as similarly as the pdfs. I don't see how I can use iTunes to do the same thing as on the Windows computer. my iPad Pro has a completely different connector than what I can use on either Windows desktop nor my macbook Pro (2013).

Do I have to use iTunes to see and copy files on the iPad Pro? Can this be done over wireless?

thank you.

You won't be able to transfer all of the iGigBook files from one device to the other via a cloud provider. You have to follow the directions in the How To and figure out how to get the appropriate version of iTunes on your Windows machine that will enable you to transfer files between your Windows machine and your device. Apple created the interface that allows you to transfer files to and from a Windows machine and your device and has documented the process.

The Windows desktop is connected fine to the iPad2 and yes, I can see (and have copied) all of the (old) iGigBook files to that Windows folder. All good.

The issue is with connecting the new iPad Pro. That interface (USB-C) is not compatible with USB (on Windows) nor the macbook Pro (USB, thunderbolt). The only way to connect to anything is cloud based/wireless. That's ok but good to know from an upgrade point of view for iGigBook owners.

iGigbook supports Cloud based upgrades (I happen to use DropBox) but unless I buy a USB-C to USB converter, I won't be able to use those old .plist files.

I'll re-create them.

thank you
