iGigBook Sheet Music Manager App for iPad and Android Tablets
I would choose a song and it would just hang trying to load the song. Also lost my gig set viewer lists. So eventually I moved all my pdfs to another folder and uninstalled. Reinstalled but then after putting files back in 'internal storage/igigbook' they don't show up in my book list or my scores list. Any thoughts?
With Android when you uninstall the app the igigbook folder is unaffected. When you uninstall the app and install it again, you have to log in again to see the indexes that are specific account and you need to refresh the My Scores view to see the PDF file that are in the igigbook folder. A screen capture of your Book List view and your My Scores view would help us understand what you are seeing in addition to what version of Android you are using.
The app isn’t going to work on any device running Android 11 due to more restrictive file permission introduced by Google for devices running Android 11 and greater. While fixing some small bugs we were no longer able to opt out of these new permission restrictions which is why you are seeing the behavior that you are seeing. Eventually we will update the app to accommodate the new restrictive permissions for devices running Android 11 but do not have a date when that will happen. Sorry for the inconvenience.
Thanks for the quick reply. I'll keep an eye out for the update.
We have a solution once you update your app to 4.9.7: https://forum.igigbook.com/viewtopic.ph ... 9259#p9259
i cant find the solution anywhere, please help! Infuriating!!!
I think Phil is working on it. Sounds like an Android 11 update issue.
We have an update but we're currently fighting with google over whether the app should have the required file access in Android 11. We submitted a build on Monday which was rejected because they didn't think we had a valid reason for the access. We filed an appeal and tried for a workaround in the interim which didn't seem to work. After the workaround version was approved it seems like they approved the rejected version but you can never go back to a previous version. We submitted another version asking for the file permissions which was rejected again and we filed another appeal. Right now we're in a holding pattern.
We don't like the workaround because it creates a scenario where when you uninstall the app you lose your PDF content which isn't what Android users of the app expect.
Thank-you for the information.
