Sharing set list with other iGigbook users

Post by UncleBenny » Thu Nov 15, 2012 4:57 pm

When I send a set list by e-mail to my band members who have iPads with iGigbook, they receive a PDF with the songs in order which then appears in their MyScores. Is there some way to get these set lists into Gig Set Viewer? If we were to decide to get Bluetooth page turners, we would not be able to use them with these set lists, as I understand it. Am I missing something here?

The set list sharing feature was designed with the notion that the person(s) you want to share with do not have an iPad which is why it included the tunes in the set as a PDF. Additionally, if the person you want to share with has iGigBook and has the PDF files that you have loaded, they wouldn't need the PDF of the tunes in the list, just the list of the tunes.

If the set list PDF is in My Scores it can still be added to a set list, one where it is the only item and can be viewed in the gig set viewer which can have items that are indexed, items that are bookmarked, or just My Score items.

We will look into a way of including in the shared email, the set list that's native to iGigBook to make it easier to do what you're trying to do i.e. share your iGigBook set list with another iGigBook user that has all of the books that you have.

OK, I tried what you suggest, and it works, thanks. It would still be nice to share the set list natively so you don't have to go through that extra step.

True, but they would either have to create their own set list manually in Set List Manager or find the tunes individually. At least the emailed PDF gives everyone a full set of tunes in one place.

Every one in my band has (or should have) the identical set of PDFs in My Scores, since we create all our own charts in Sibelius. We don't use commercial fake books (although we all have some on our iPads) because: 1) we may play the tune in a different key; 2) we may use different chord progressions; 3) we like to write in our intros and outros on a lot of them.

This feature has been added in version 1.77.
