Avoiding repeats on set lists...

Post by saxist » Mon Dec 03, 2012 10:41 pm

I use the set list in a way it as not originally intended. I've made 5-6 different lists. waltz, bebop, ballad, Latin...etc, etc...

That way I don't have to think of a specific tune. I just jump into what ever 'feel' I want next, and in that list, I know every tune.

Unfortunately, I forget the tunes I've put in the various lists, and as other players call out tunes, I re-add tunes to lists and get doubles....

Any way to add a preference to disallow doubles? I understand why others may want them in a set list, and tht I am not using the system the normal way lol.

The default is that if you try to add the same song to a set list, you will get a message informing you that the song is already in the set and that still seems to be working correctly with version 1.77.

...........

Is this a 'newer' implementation? I swear I remember a while back getting a bunch of doubles by mistake...

In any case, it works as you describe, which is great.

Buuuuut... I uncovered a glitch I believe?

I went to real book 6th. Added bewitched to a set list. I then went to anthology by page flipping. I tried to add it to a different list, instead, it adds bewitched to that set list too?

I found I can just back up to the main title list and reenter, then add. Which isn't really much of an inconvenience. Certainly confusing though! Would smooth out user friendliness if it didn't happen. Just reporting.

This is how the app always worked, perhaps you're confusing iGigBook with some other app?

If you move from the current song by paging, adding to a set list will result in an attempt to add that same song, swiping on the other hand advances to the next song and adding to a set list will add the song that you swiped to.

Hmmm..could you clarify the difference between paging and swiping again? It's been a while since I got into the intricities of the program.
