"Rate it" nags

Post by spinality » Tue Dec 04, 2012 4:55 pm

I wish I could turn off the "rate it" nags that appear from time to time. I have rated iGigBook, I think it's great, but I don't like nagware. Just a suggestion. Or perhaps there's already a way to do this?

I'm sorry that you feel that it's nagging however if we didn't ask for reviews during every update we just wouldn't get any reviews or ratings. Less than one tenth of one percent of the users rate the app and the rating system is such that ones rating is valid for a particular version. I would have thought that you may have wanted to update your review since you reported two issues you had with the app that were fixed in this update.

Ah, I hadn't realized these only occurred after updates. I thought they were just time-based. Like many users I have so many app updates that I don't always notice when there's a new iGigBook pending.

Here's a suggestion: turn the nag (negative) into a benefit (positive) by posting a message that says something like:

Welcome to iGigBook version x.yy.
New features include a, b, c.
Please rate this release!

Anyway, it was just a suggestion showing what I bet is a common reaction, and not a big complaint.
