I really like igigbook but disappointed that you do not support PageFlip. Is it because you just want to support your own products? I will have stop using iGigbook if there is no solution. Is there a refund process for your software? Suggest you clearly post what works and doesn't work with your software.

We don't claim to support any specific pedal, we do support turning pages forward using a bluetooth keyboard. If a piece of hardware claims that it emulates a bluetooth keyboard and doesn't work with iGigBook, I think it's on the manufacturer of said hardware to get in touch with us to try to work it out as will help them to make money. Needless to say, we haven't heard anything from the makers of PageFlip. Have you asked them why their pedal doesn't work with iGigBook? If not, you may want to contact them and let them know as we do support forward page turns via a Bluetooth keyboard which a number of these pedals claim to emulate. And yes we very much want to support our own page turning solution, iGigBook Pager which is free if you own an iPhone or iPod Touch.

Thanks for your reply. Yes, I did contact them and they, as you, blame the other and the customer suffers. Doesn't matter because I am only the customer right? See my response to PageFlip below and their response... Maybe you two ought to get together and not leave it to me the customer, who incidentally pays for your products.
You and iGig are amazing. Pass one (customer) off to the other and stick it to the customer... read below (igigbook response)
Now I have heard you both tell me it is not your problem. I wish one of you would own up to the problem.
Why does AirTurn work with iGig and not PageFlip"? Have you ever contacted iGig to see how you could both resolve this issue or is that too much to ask?
Sorry, but I am only the customer.
The PageFlip website lists the iPad apps that work with the PageFlip Cicada Bluetooth pedal.
The problem isn't with the pedal, but rather with the software. Most iPad/iPhone apps assume that you will swipe the screen. Therefore, they don't bother adding a few lines of code to their programs to handle keyboard events such as pressing the PageUp/PageDown or arrow keys.
The PageFlip Cicada emits keyboard
presses when tapping the foot pedal. Which key press is emitted is based on the current mode, which is set by pressing one of the five buttons on the right side of the cover panel.
Currently, the working apps for the iPad include forScore, Deepdish Gigbook, unrealBook, onSong, and NextPage.
You are encouraged to try them. They are fairly cheap so you can actually try them all and pick your favorite.
iGig is not on the list, although it would probably be worthwhile to express your interest to them to add the ability to trigger page turns via the Up/Down arrow commands. Before giving up on the pedal because it doesn't function with iGig, I would suggest contacting them about the problem and see if they can't get their app to work like the ones listed above. Also, I would try out the apps listed above. A lot of musicians are using them.

Tom, are you aware that page turning using any page turner including iGigBook Pager only happens while you are viewing a page via the "Gig Set List" view? Viewing a page from the Book List or any of the searches does not activate this capability.

Yes, just found that out. However, in Gig set list view with PageFlip, you can move forward but not rearward. Further, it would be excellent for the paging to work in the other modes or for example, to be able to page through a fake book.
I had a nice conversation with George of PageFlip and he has your program and is quite interested in fixing the problem. I applaud you both for jumping on this issue immediately. That is what good service is all about.

I love iGigbook but am very frustrated by the restrictions on page turning. Currently you can only page forward and only for gig set list view. These restrictions serverly limit the usefulness of the doing hands free page turns and negates the usefulness of the wonderful search function.
The typical scenario on an unrehearsed gig is that there are no prepared set lists. The leader typically calls a tune and you're expected to be ready to play it within a few seconds. If you don't have it memorized iGigbook (with all of it's great indexes) makes it easy access the tune in just few seconds...but this typically happens fastest via the song search function. If it's multi-page chart you won't be able to page through it hand-free with out taking other time consuming steps.
Also, the practical reality is that if you're reading a multi-page chart on a gig you almost always have to go back to page one when the melody is repeated or to act on internal repeats....why not support backward page turns too. Fixing these two issues would make your software the hands down best on the market. Without them I , and many others, are forced to use, and end up recommending, other apps which may lack your strong search functionality but which do more fully support page turning.

I can appreciate having a two pedals device wanting to be able to use it to the fullest. You have a point about being able to back up to page one of a repeat, DS or DC, but we do have a feature that does the jump for you so that you can just keep moving forward by tapping or by using a pedal.

Has the problem with using PageFlip with iGigBook been resolved? I didn't research enough, I guess, because it never crossed my mind that an app as great as iGigBook but have this sort of ridiculous limitation. In my environment, I must be able to page forward and backwards, because we rarely perform the same song the same way twice. Songs may be cut short, or lengthened dramatically, depending on circumstances. I have been unable to even page forward so far. And yes, I am using Gig Set Viewer.

IGigBook turns pages backwards and forwards with the up and down arrow keys of a Bluetooth keyboard. If you are having problems turning pages with a device that emulates a bluetooth keyboard, you should check what keystrokes it is sending when you engage the pedals. The people best in a position to help you with that are the people that created the pedal.

I'm also curious as to compatible bluetooth pedals. I'm looking at Cicada Pageflip.
It says on their page that the user may select among five modes for the dual pedals: PageUp/PageDown, Left/Right arrow, Up/Down arrow, Left/Right mouse click, and Space/Enter.
Phil, Based on your last post it sounds like it should work fine in Up/Down arrow mode... Has anyone given this a try? One user on Amazon had it only partially working and I want to be sure before I drop $80 on this device
Also, where is the detailed page on what the up/down arrows do and how to use them when a page is bookmarked for repeats or when it has no markings for such things?
