Draw tools not responding!

Post by tonalities »

Everything was working fine until a few days ago! I'm using iPad Pro 13-inch (M4) OS 26.6. Trying to annotate some charts this week and NONE of the Draw Tools in the top menu will respond to my finger or Apple Pencil. It seems frozen. It will draw thin black lines which I can't erase! So, I can't change line size or color, can't save other than reverting to landscape. On IOS I would delete the app and go back to re-download from the App Store, but I'm afraid I'd lose all my content. I have nearly 500 Unindexed Scores! Am I missing something, an update? Please help... Gordon

If you delete the app, you will delete all of the content you have added to the app. How To Backup Your iGigBook Folder To Google Drive - iPad Only

The status bar in the drawing tool can be moved up or down from any area that doesn't contain a button or an icon.

Thanks for the reply, Phil. I have uploaded my iGig files to Google Drive, minus the Clips & Outbox folders. Up there I see my .pdf files and also many .idraw files. I assume these are invisible flies that contain notes I have added to the corresponding .pdf files, right? This is all NEW to me!
Now I am hoping there might be an instructional video to guide me through reloading the files from Google Drive into the new iGigBook app once I've deleted and replaced the older version. Please bear with me, I'm still "new" and a little nervous...

Deleting the app isn't something one would do without good reason. If you've used the Files app to copy files, you already know how to copy files, the only thing that changes is the destination and the source.

Thanks again, Phil.
I saved my data to Google Drive & deleted the iGig app from my iPad. Then went to the App Store and downloaded the app, logged in and retrieved my data from drive. When I loaded it I found the drive had only allowed 500 pdf files to be stored, so I came up a few short. However, I still had the extra PDFs in my iPad “Files” folder. Then I realized I could have done the procedure without even using Google drive.
The good news is my draw tools are working again and I have lost nothing in the process.
Thanks again for the assistance!

What resolves the issue with the drawing tool is moving the status bar, not deleting and then reinstalling the app. Just want to make that clear to other people that may be reading this.
