Hello! New iGigBook user here. I have PDFs loaded, and most indexes working pretty well with them. Looking forward to putting it all to the test on an upcoming gig or jam session.
Here's my wish for today: I understand the Single Index setup, and I have it working. As a sax player who sometimes brings both a tenor AND an alto, I need Bb and Eb Real Books. I have the Hal Leonards loaded -- Sixth Exition for Vol1 and "Second Edition" for Vol 2 and 3. In each case, I loaded the Bb PDF twice -- Once as realbk1h.pdf and realbk1h_bb.pdf. I loaded the Eb book as realbk1h_eb. (And similarly for the other two volumes.) This basically works, and as you'd expect, the Bb book comes up in C instruments and Bb instruments. When I select a song in the Hal Leonards, it goes to the Bb book first. If I want the Eb book, I have to hit the "key" icon, select Eb, and hit Transpose. It works, but there are those few extra keystrokes.
If I completely had my way, when I browsed for a song, I'd see it available in the Bb and Eb books separately, and select that book directly. I guess that would entail your making separate books and separate indexes for each key. Maybe this is more a matter of user taste than anything else, and some might prefer the single index method. I guess I'd rather pick the book once the song is found.
Other than that, very excited to have this application!
Thanks,
Steve Scheinberg

Re: Single Index vs ???
Oh wait -- Just noticed the New Real Book is listed and indexed exactly that way. Cool. Any way we could have the same split for the Hal Leonard (6th, II, II) trio?
Thanks,
Steve

Re: Single Index vs ???
We used to do that, but switched over to the single index system when the books are exactly the same for Bb, C, Eb, Bass. The New Real Books are different for C and for Bb, Eb.stevescheinberg wrote:Oh wait -- Just noticed the New Real Book is listed and indexed exactly that way. Cool.
