Before I purchase this app, I was wondering if this app supports multiple bands with different set lists?

Yes it does, take a look at How To Use The Set List Manager

I can visualize the different set lists, but will it also associate to the right people if we were sharing with different bands made up of completely different musicians and we wanted to email them what we have?

Visualize different set lists associated with different bands.
