In order to create an index using the bulk-upload feature, it appears we are required to specify the composer in the form <lastname><comma><firstname>, where the comma is required. Lots of songs have more than one composer. The Great Gig Book, for example shows the composers in many different ways: "Rogers/Hart", "Hetman/Sour/Eyton/John Green", "Johnny Burk/Jimmy Van Heusen" for 3 examples.
This format requirement appears to be the reason that the Beatles Fake Book index shows the composer of almost every song as "Lennon, John". Too bad we can't search for songs written by McCartney (which most of them actually are).
This <lastname><comma><firstname> format is not required when editing an index one composer at a time, or one song at a time. Is there any compelling reason for enforcing this restrictive format for uploads? If not, I would request that the restriction be removed. It just doesn't make sense. Does it?
Composer "lastname,firstname" required for uploads?

There is no such requirement when using the Bulk Upload feature.

Although lastname, firstname may not be "required" for bulk uploads, one must include a "name, name" or an error occurs and the bulk upload doesn't work.

You should read the original post. What you're describing is not what the OP was referring to.
