Adding muisc to a custom book you have already created and index for

Post by jnugent6877 »

I have a custom PDF with hundreds of songs in it. I have also created an Igig index for it and all works fine. If I want to add additional music for it and keep the PDF organized by title (ex., insert a page for a new song "Susie" after the song "Sally" at page 23), my index will be incorrect for everything from pg 23 on. I can edit the index to add the song but then I have to retype in the updated page numbers for all the songs thereafter. Is there a quick way to deal with this repagination for indexes?

I may be wrong but it seems the new PDF ediiting feature is primarily for unindexed scores and books.

Thanks

PDF editing is only for altering a PDF, adding pages, inserting pages, rearranging pages.

The index can be edited using the content manager at my.igigbook.com. In your case you select "Manage Song Titles" and add the additional titles. For an existing PDF with an existing index, you add the additional songs/pages at the end of the PDF and then add the additional Song Titles using the content manager. The index is sorted by Song Title so the new song titles will appear in order even though they are at the end of the PDF.

Inserting the pages anywhere but the end will always cause your index to be off, which is why you always add them at the end.

Sorry, am a newbie. I have a long, single PDF (200+) tunes. How do I convert that so that each separate page is readable in an index?

There is no conversion involved. You can create an index by following this How To: https://forum.igigbook.com/viewtopic.php?f=22&t=7
