Does importing a pdf from another app (eg ForScore) double the amount of data used on the device?

In the past I have used ForScore to store my pdfs, and the excellent Fake Book Index https://www.seventhstring.com/fbindex.html to locate songs. Of course the snag is this doesn't work without internet access, e.g. on a gig. I was therefore delighted to learn about the iGigBook app from the bass player at a gig last Thursday.

I've worked out how to import pdfs from the ForScore folder on my iPad. My question is does this create a duplicate copy, doubling the amount of data used? To avoid this should I go back and delete those pdfs from ForScore?

Yes, it does, you're making a copy unless you're explicitly doing a move operation using the Files app.
