Is it possible to edit a book's title?

Yes, go to my.igigbook.com, select My Books from the menu, select the edit button to the right to the title you want to change.

What if it is not a custom book of mine but rather one of the "built-in" books (which don't show up in the My Books list)?

You can only change the book titles you have created which is why only the book titles you have created appear in the My Books list..
