How To Use Real Book CD ROMS With iGigBook for iOS

Hal Leonard offers a number of Real Books for sale on a CD ROM. The CD ROM's have 400 individual PDF documents representing each song. To assist you in creating a single PDF from the individual songs to use with the Real Book CD ROM series, we have created a series of set list that you can import into iGigBook or iGigBook mobile. The "Real Book" sets are available from the Latest News section of the configuration manager. Once the set has been imported, you can use the Set List Sharing feature to combine the individual PDF documents into a single PDF document and name this PDF to the correct book code for the index. After the combined PDF is created, you can remove the 400 individual PDF documents from your device.

Notes about step 1 and 5

Starting with version 8.2 of iGigBook, you now have access to the iGigBook folder that contains PDF files in the Files app. This means instead of using "Open In", you can directly download PDF files or ".igbset", "Set_???.plist" files directly to the iGigBook folder from your device. Use this method instead of "Open In" if your using version 8.2 of iGigbook or greater.

Step by step for Real Book 6th Edition CD ROM:

1. Copy PDF files from the CD to your device using device file sharing and keep the device connected
2. Access my.igigbook.com from your device and select Latest News
3. Select the link titled: "Real Book 6th Edition CD Set", to import the set
4. Use the Set List Sharing feature to generate a single PDF. DO NOT SEND THE EMAIL
5. Switch back to the file sharing window on iTunes that you used in step 1 or use the Files app
6. Locate the file Set_Real_Book_6th_Ed_CD.pdf and rename it to realbk1h.pdf
7. You can also delete the files copied during step 1 now
8. Return to your device and select Cancel to dismiss the mail dialog and select Delete Draft
9. Adjust the offset for Real Book 6th Edition to -9 in the Book List View
