Help with Bb book - newbie

Post by cannelg »

Hello,

Really cool app! Was hoping someone could guide me. Before I found this I purchased the plastic combed hardcopies of 3 real books - Real Book 6th edition in Bb, Book 2 Second Edition in Bb, and Book 3 2nd edition in B. I can't seem to find a place to also purchase PDFs of these. I have found older Bb versions online and imported those 3 They didn't sync up correctly but I mostly have them working now by adding or shifting pages around. I would be willing to re-buy the Bb versions of the newer books but I don't know where any of them are available. Hal Leanard only sells the C versions from what I can tell.

Also - I have the Creole Fake Book in Bb but the app locked into the C version - and I don't even have the C version. It won't let me unlink what is there.

Anyway - this is a really great app but I am hoping to include the books I actually have. The print is better and they are easier to read. I don't want to destroy the binding and scan them all in but are there any other options?

Thanks,
Greg

This is the current list of indexes that we offer which also includes links that you should check out: https://forum.igigbook.com/viewtopic.php?f=22&t=9

The are the original real books 1, 2 and 3 which we refer to as "Classic" Real Books and then there is the Hal Leonard editions which are different. You can't use the "Classic" indexes for the Hal Leonard editions and you can't use the Hal Leonard editions indexes for the "Classic" books.

Thanks. I see the index for the Hal Leanard books and I have them in book Bb in book form but was wondering if anyone knew of where to purchase PDFs of them. I only see the cd-rom books available from Hal Leanard in , not Bb - but I gotta believe they are out there somewhere. I suppose I can tear the binding off and try to scan all of them but ….I was hoping for a different solution.

I’ll keep playing with it to learn more about it.

Thank you,
Greg

Ok - I got the creale fake book to show Bb parts so that is good. I still can’t seem to find a vendor to sell pdf versions of the Hal Leonard real books, (volume 6 and volumes ii and iii, second editions, all in Bb). I went to a copy place to see about getting the printed ones I have rebound so but they felt as if the margins would be too close to cut the pages and re-bind. So - I can either buy new paper copies and break the binding and scan in or - i noticed you can buy them as ibooks through the Apple app. Is there a way to convert from iBook to the iGigbook app?

Thanks,
Greg

We can't really help you with DRM(Digital Rights Management) material, those aren't PDF files and are protected so that you can only use them with a DRM app.

Ok - no worries. Looks like my only choice might be to break the binding and scan. I like the look and format of those books. I hate to buy the hard copies twice Only to rip one apart for scanning but it might be the only path. If anyone knows a place to purchase PDFs of those please let me know.

Thanks,
Greg
